If you don't mind a "used" car, methinks an old 2000 ITR or a even better... a Prelude are better deals. I definitely like my friend's Prelude S more than the RSX-S even though the RSX-S is a tad faster on paper.

Then again, if you're buying an RSX, power isn't what you were looking for as a main concern. If you were, you would have tried a Dodge SRT4. And if it was handling, you would have tried the Mazdaspeed Protege.

Yes I live in NJ... ;). Also this would be my first car so I haven't had time to build up my car insurance. Plus Im in my early 20s so yea heheh.

Prudential still offers insurance in NJ? And damn, I though 300 a month was bad... but 500 is insane.

DAME FUN CAR!!!! .... had a great time driving a WRX for 30 mins on some back roads. Well worth every penny. Some will say it's over priced but their Dogde SRT doesn't have AWD and a rally tuned suspention. Not to mention the 300% better quality build and better engine configuration.

Used Type-Rs and Preludes are still over $20k... :( talk about resale value.

The Cobra R looks nifty, but I am definitely not diggin' the wing.

The wing HAS to be like that for the downforce it needs.

oh man... someone go tell the people over at ferrari that they need huge eyesore style wings on ALL THEIR FAST CARS!!! i mean c'mon maranello... top speed 200+ what were the ferrari engineers thinking?!

Ferrari's are engineered from the ground up and already have the aerodynamic slipstream idea down pat. This car still used the SN-95 look in conjunction with a front splitter and a rear wing. Also, this is a RACE CAR not a street driven Ferrari. What does Ferrari use on road courses? Surprise they use larger wings. Sigh...another bench racer, and another pointless post.

They're not perfect or for everyone but they certainly dont suck. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but for every one bad experience there are countless good ones.

True. Just left a very bad taste in my mouth. The cobra was fun though just didn't handle as tight as I like.

That being said my buddy has an RSX type r or s or whatever it is....

Nice, fun, sporty, pretty quick ride for the money. Well appointed too.

Yet slow...

Dude stop posting in my thread, you are seriously retarded. Go drive your all american dodge omni to school and leave me to actual questions.

That being said, any RSX owners around that can vouch for reliability?

Going by my experience so far with my GS-R, they are very reliable. Though they are about 30-40% more expensive to get worked on than a Honda.

If I were going to buy a new car, I probably would get a RSX-type R. It is a nice car.

I'm coming up on 2 years now- the only problem was a jammed radio button swapped out under warranty. If you can't get a brand new Type S for 22K flat, you're not looking hard enough.

The only change I've made are new summer tires and Hawk brake pads- huge difference for a little over $500 more.

Also in the Bay area, I pay about $1800/year in insurance.
