You moved to the worst state in the country by basically every metric and love it because you have money. No different than an expat moving to some enclave in Central America and saying "Hey what problems? Everything seems fine to me."

Let's just say that your ability to be objective here is somewhat limited at best.
Very diplomatic to limit his lack of objectivity to this specific topic.

I wished that everyone could have the same good life that I enjoy, and in your desperate need to to repudiate anything I might say you attempt to divert that into a negative. How fucked up is your life that you can't accept simple well wishes without going off on a tangent?
I kind of feel sorry for you, being that defensive can't be much fun.
Huh? This seems to be a grammar problem on your part, which is sort of amusing.

Since the post you replied to was about your state and not your personal community. This means either:

1) you didn't understand the post you were responding to, as an answer about your town wouldn't respond coherently to the post or

2) by 'this place' you meant your state as a whole, which is pretty ridiculous for all the reasons I mentioned.

Thank you for your heartfelt sympathies, it's good that you're able to look past the person on the screen and feel empathy for others. I feel similar empathy either for your research abilities or for your high school English teacher. (this would depend on your answer to the choice above) Please let me know so I can direct my condolences accordingly!

The problem is also billionaires. They are driving prices up with their extreme excess wealth.

We need to tax the shit out of them to fund Universal Basic McDonalds for all Americans.
It's not so much that they are driving up prices it's that they have disproportionate political power. They are unelected individuals who are pretty much driving policy in the US and their needs and interests are very much not those of the rest of the population.

Nearly 45% of state revenues come from federal aid
Just this point here (if it's accurate , and I have no reason to doubt it) shows that it's not a state to emulate across the nation! Indeed it would be impossible without the US failing as a major economy!

Generally speaking the South is the poorest region in the US and most states there are heavily, heavily dependent on federal transfers to keep their economies afloat. This isn't true for all of the South (Texas and Florida do fine) but for most of the others it is. Hell, for Kentucky a full 20% of the GROSS STATE PRODUCT is federal transfers. So in that case we don't mean state revenues, we mean 20% of all economic activity in the state is other states giving them money.

You might be wondering why their politics are the way they are in this case but in my experience the most common reason is when you inform someone of this they simply refuse to believe it's true.

An ignorant life being a shitty person and voting for shitty horrific leaders and things is not a life most of us aspire to have. But keep on being your ignorant shitty self, that is one constant.

I'm starting to think Indus and Felix were on the jury

If I were I'd be proud to say I voted not guilty and would be trying to get on a TV show and say Squishes need to get the hell out of Dodge.. as there's a storm coming with mass deportations of everyone you love and hold dear!

I'm down to start a GoFundMe to help you move down next door to Green Man, to be closer to the people you belong with. Maybe Felix can join you. I think it's a good fit. Sound good?

The rule would be for any money raised, you have to get the hell out of NYC to be near a higher ratio of likeminded bloodlusting sociopaths that think people can be justifiably erased from living for being poor and a public nuisance with zero consquences - in fact - you want to offer up their killer as a hero. There are places in the country for you - red maga areas.

Nope!

I AM GOING NOWHERE BLM BITCH BOY

Btw it's hilarious how they've raised a billion but weren't able to give Jordan Neely the help he required.. maybe even a sandwich if not the drug rehab treatments.

But you'll just keep thinking BLM is the best organization on the planet.

That's why I didn't donate to BLM or the hurricane relief efforts.. because of corruption. I stand by what I said then.. send some food.. at least it'll feed someone instead of money that they just buy Louis Vuitton bags with.

your mind is melted. holy weird totally self-manifested rant on BLM. who the fuck is talking about BLM, especially me thinking it's the best organization lolol? It's like you are talking to the MAGA voices in your head who have become more and more of who you are evolving into.

I'm perfectly fine.

You're the one who's lashing out at everyone who doesn't think like you.

Guess what? That's what America is.. a melting pot.. for all our opinions and all of us. But you're the one who's wanting people to leave.. fucking more MAGA than MAGA wanting your extremely puritan country.

No wonder no one likes to engage with you on this board.. arguing with you is like playing chess with a pigeon.. you shit on the board, knock over the pieces and prance around like you won.

BTW I called the verdict before hand.. so I WON!

Accept it!

I've agreed with most people in this thread about this case, just not with the few sociopaths that think Penny is a hero and this was justice. I'm also not the only one who called out your total bullshit on this topic btw. Feel free to read it again, because you are not existing in reality.

And you talking about melting pots. Melting pots are about diversity - that does not mean having to accept and be ok with the opinions of evil MAGA, nor of bloodlusing sociopaths that think people like Penny is a hero and this was justice. A melting pot doesn't mean having to accept the opinions of Nazis or bloodthirsty people like yourself here.

It is indeed the worst state in the nation, what's odd is that no one around here seems to know it.
I do live in the second richest county in the state, good schools, low crime, no homeless that I've ever seen, no trash on the streets, no drug addict's panhandling at intersections. The only city around here that appears to have any those problems is Southaven, right on the Tennessee border next to Memphis.
My neighbors are all good people. They smile and wave, and are never in to much of a hurry to stop and chat.
I wish everyone could live in such a lousy place.

You remind me of the Brad Pitt line in inglorious bastards when he talks about fighting in a basement

You might live in the best city but you are still in the shittiest state

If there is one thing NYC juries seem to like it’s white men assaulting black men on the subway.

Don't forget Daniel Pantaleo in Staten Island..

They had a much better case against that guy than they ever did against Penny and that is a fact!

Infact I actually hoped the killer then would be found guilty but nope.. but Penny honestly not even 1/10th of the evidence there.

IMHO guys are really making a mountain out of a molehill. Penny doesn't irritate me in the slightest but Pantaleo still pisses me off. It wasn't George Floyd bad but it was still really bad.

I'm waiting to see what happens when little gets spotted at a nightclub or bar.

My bet is, sparks will fly. :D

Question for all on the side of Penny, would have it been fair to kill this woman? Racist Karen verbally assaulting Indian people on a train.

Read this again..

At what point do NYC residents become upset at the total laziness of the most expensive police force in the country simply not doing its job? My guess is probably never because they are a special class now.

I was in NYC for a week this year and rode the subway constantly during that time racking up dozens of rides all over the core of the system. I saw cops on the platform once, clotted together in the mezzanine on their phones, and not one time on an actual train.
