Chain rotates away from the operator on the top of the bar. Using the top of bar pushes the saw into the operator. Makes it harder, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Contacting the upper portion of the bar tip(first ~33% of the radius) will violently throw the saw back at the operator. Yay chainbrakes! Even better is understanding your tool, being aware of the ways it can fuck you up.
Yeah, I was thinking about it wrong. Thinking that chain should be going away from the operator on top, but then not thinking about the radius correctly.

A cable like this is used to backfeed a generator to power your house. Plugs one end into the generator and the other into a 110v outlet in your house. Your generator will then backfeed and power that circuit. Just remember to turn off the main breakers or you risk frying a lineman. Not sure if this is allow by electrical code, but then again, its your house and your generator.

It's an incredibly stupid and dangerous thing to do, and is a handheld 120 volt cattle prod. Backfeeding a breaker is indeed against code. But to keep it in context I was replying to a post about other stupid electronic devices, namely a firewire to USB.
There are ways to install a backfeed breaker for your generator that are safe. the suicide cord is not one of them.
