I was assuming the lawn-chair (maybe cast-iron rather than plastic?) was bolted to the ground? Pretty strong bolts, all the same.

But the other chair was moved by the wind, and that suggests that's not the case.

Thing is the black "seasoning" they're bragging about getting rid of was not only anti-rust but was a precious gift of flavor from the angels above (and dear old Grandma!) not something to be thoughtlessly ground/scraped off!
