Ugh.

This needs a revamp. You need some serious new bullets with 'paint-the-picture' accomplishments.

And overall it's way too short. Resume is your 95% of who you are to the world. It's based on your resume that they bother to call you in the first place. It's your resume the hiring managers read in front of you DURING your interview.

Jokes aside, I've suspected this all along. If you're not getting calls, your resume sucks. And yours does, no matter how much you changed it based on this bad foundation.

Get this overhauled.

I don't want to sound whatever, but it was my RESUME that gave me six figure income (I remade it to a full 2 pager from a shitty 1 page one). I learned it dearly that sizzle matters.

[edit]
PM me if you're serious, I can give you some pointers (obviously talking to TridenT).

I could use a six figure income too. Preferably still in Phoenix for that cost of living.. :awe:

OP - do you set a minimum number of applications per day that you send out?

When I was laid off in 2009 I set a minimum of 5 applications a day with a personalized cover letter for each. Was like a full time job researching the company and tailoring my resume and cover letter to the job I was applying for.

Or do you sit around and lament all day?

He watches youtube!

And dances. None of that fake ass lindy stuff either.

Some feedback: is anybody using your dance project? If so, you could state that. I would think that you'd want to put job experience above the projects. Also you're bit lacking on leadership points.

No, no one is using it. I have a lot of leadership points but people told me to remove them from the stuff because it detracts from the important stuff (projects and work experience). Pretty much every project I ever get in, I am the leader of the group. I've volunteered a lot in leadership positions, founded a club, taught lessons, bunch more shit...

I can apply for maybe 10 jobs a week, if I'm lucky. There's not that many employment opportunities that are suitable to my experience and skill set. I wasn't applying for just one city either. I was applying for at least 5 major cities.

I was right though. The companies I've applied for don't care about grades. ()🙂

Clearly you were right, because they forgave your low GPA and hired you anyway? Get real. A company local to me, with a very aggressive recruiting program, had a note on an application from a Yale student with a 3.8GPA: "mediocre grades from a mediocre institution." Companies do care about your GPA.

Someone told you to remove leadership notes? That is REALLY dumb. Liek, so dumb. On a scale from one to even, I can't. It sounds like it might actually be the strongest point in your portfolio, and you removed it. Strong leadership qualities show initiative, ability to work in a team environment, capacity to shoulder responsibility, and hold deadlines. It's a big deal.

I know of a guy who has some random degree, but works as a regional sales manager for a snack-food company. What stood out on his resume: captain of his college lacrosse team. Now he makes money hand-over-fist with a degree that isn't directly applicable to his job.

It came from someone who is in a high position at a large tech company and has interviewed thousands. But I know opinions on resumes are different amongst everyone.

You might want to reconsider your advice if you've been following it but are still jobless. When'd you finish school, 7-8 months ago?

Removing mention of leadership skills because someone told you it wouldn't work. :hmm:

Yea, it didn't work alright. 😀 😀 😀

I'm tempted to put the quote in my sig but It's already taken by an equally stupid quote.

So many haters!

Interview with FB on Friday. On-site interview next week. And another interview next week too...

We'll see how it goes. I'll probably bomb them all but that's okay.
