I've posted information that Troy State is Tier 2, and that US News and World Report and Kaplan's considers Tier 2 to be middle of the road. You've said your personal opinion was that they are poorly regarded. I asked for evidence to support your opinion, and all you can do is restate your opinion. Neither one of you has offered anything other than a personal opinion.

2nd tier schools, are 2nd tier schools no matter the region. There arent any non doctoral schools in the top 250.

By pure logic 2nd tier means it would not be poor, because poor would have to be less than the middle tier. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Tier. You could make an argument that 1st Tier is Good, 2nd Tier is Average, 3rd is Fair, and 4th is Horrible.

Actually I said Troy State was middle of the road. I never said it was number one or excellent. The same argument could apply to you, but saying that everything in Alabama is POOR or sh!tty and that's it.

You have 248 doctoral granting schools ahead of the tier 1, 2, 3, 4. But yes, tier 2 schools arent poorly regarded. They arent the worst, they aren't the best. They are somewhere in the middle. Id say easily in the top 50% of all universities in the US, probably in the top 35-40%.

I had plenty high enough ACT and GPA to go to a top notch school and major in anything I wanted. I didn't like Broadcast Meteorology as much as I thought so I settled on something else. Again, why does my major matter so much? I can afford to major in that and be a Police Officer or the like and be ok with that. I'm happy with my place in society.
