jesus, he broke the law and got his ass handed to him.
don't blame it on the judge being female.

also, PMS hits BEFORE their period, so if you want to blame it on that saying "during their period" doesn't fly.

So someone who creates a new account, posts a little "story" and everyone believes it?
That is the internet...
I say some dude drove 75 in a 55 zone in the middle of a snow storm with their headlights burned out on summer tires and now wants some sympathy....

I knew some women would come on and say that.

Nah, I'm one of those overcompensating women trying to prove I'm man enough for the job and succeeding at it. 😀

PS: BS in mathematics here and am still able to spell and punctuate.

I guess punctuation is easier to grasp then clicking the "Quote" button. :Q

Hopefully the judge's car got slammed into by a drunk driver being chased by the cops.

It's not so much you being a newbie, but more of a moron that's the problem.

Anyways, if your buddy thought it was important enough to get a 'good lawyer', there's got to be more to the story.

Virginia.. what a sh!tty piece of crap worthless fvcking state. Excessive speeding penalties like that are absolutely horrible.

In FL, they got rid of any laws where you serve jail time based on speed..

And you call me a moron come up with something original and maybe I will feel slightly offended by you. Search my posts did I ever say she was a good lawyer. Also, a lot of people with a ticket for reckless driving get a lawyer. So next time you want to post from your Canadian dream world think about it first.

I got pulled over in VA for doing 77 in a 55 mph zone on a 4-lane in the middle of nowhere and the cop told me that 20 over was automatic reckless driving. He told me he would give me a break and write the ticket for 74 because otherwise the judge would send me straight to jail. So it must not be that uncommon there.

Though I think the sentencing is quite harsh, I don't think you can really blame the judge. She was doing her job by the book. People complain all the time about how some get preferential treatment because of their family, income, who they know, etc. The judge didn't do anything wrong regardless of how much you may disagree with the punishment. She followed the law, he didn't. If the people there don't like it they should try to get the law or sentencing guidelines changed.

Edit: I am now very careful to follow the speed limit whenever I go through that area.

that's insane.. there has to be more to this story. I'll reiterate for those of you that don't live around here, 20 over is the norm for the beltway/95/66, assuming it's not rush hour. I have a friend who had his license revoked, but never jail time (well, once he almost had jail time because he mis-read his court date...).

That?s the problem with traffic court you are at the whim of the Judge. You can have 2 identical cases one person has one judge the other has a different judge 1 walks out with a 300 fine the other 8 days in the pin. I know another guy who had a reckless ticket and got of with nothing because he helped the judge translate Spanish for someone.

<-- 35mph over

The roads may never be safe again.

As long as you stay out of Indiana you should be alright 😛

Well seeing as you have the literacy of a 5 year old, it was difficult to make out exactly what you were saying. Sorry for the assumption that the lawyer was good. Generally when somebody deems a situation is important enough for a lawyer, they like to get a good one. But if you're an indication of the type of people who would be friends with you, i guess it makes sense he would hire a sh1tty lawyer.

I had a wreckless driving, speeding, crossing a double solid, and a few more that I won't name once while I was 18 (~10 years ago), and got off on all charges. I had a lawyer and my case was settled between the DA and my laywer before it even made it to the judge. The judge just talked to me for a minute and lectured me, and that was the end. Depends on the judge, but no matter what that sentence he recieved is very excessive in my opinion.

For the love of God, find a dictionary.🙂

It's reckless, not wreckless
known, not know
throw, not through
they're, not their
you're, not your.

What are you my English teacher? Sorry, I studied something a little more in depth in college than English and didn't realize this was a graded paper. It's late and I just want to type without getting criticized. You got the idea of what I was saying so if you don?t mind get off my f?ing balls.

You only learned that stuff in COLLEGE?

Me learneded them werds in mah elemtary skool.

Anyway, jail is BS for 20 over the speed limit. I got a ~$500 ticket for 105 in a 75 in NC once. I hired a lawyer for $250 to go to court for me since I live in VA, and he got the ticket dropped.

It did teach me a good leason, though. I don't go more than 10 over the speed limit on the interstate anymore, unless I'm just keeping up with traffic. BTW for all you people who I know will jump on me, no, I never speed in residential areas and especially not school zones.

This isn't a 'problem' with just traffic court... this is LIFE. We all have different opinions and abilities. For instance, do you flip burgers at work exactly the same as everybody else?

You are getting better but attacking my literacy skills doesn't faze me much. I am a logical thinker if you were as well maybe you would have understood what I was saying. Also, while English grammar is important I didn?t realize I was being graded or evaluated for my grammar on this forum. If I had I would have sent it to the bitches like you down in the technical writing department.

Yup, the entire state of Virginia is like a speed trap for any car sporting out of state plates.

I'm not sure. If I had thought this would be so hard for so many people to grasp I wouldn't have posted. I too thought it a little excessive and unbelievable hence this post.
