"The black community" is a term you hear a great deal in certain circles, certain contexts. I don't take issue with it, it's fine, but the black people who are physically attacking Asians, do not think in those terms, do not use that particular term in their thinking, in their every day language, you can be sure. They are certainly disaffected, bummed out, angry, reactive, at least semi-desperate, probably have suffered untold indignities and are continuing to do so. It's not members/representatives of "the black community" that's attacking Asians, it's messed up blacks, and others as we saw in the murderous rampage in Atlanta by a creepy fellow who looks white to me. I heard that he bought his gun perfectly legally earlier in the day. Must be a swell place, Atlanta.

In New York City's case - a lot of those Black attackers had mental issues. I watch the news in the morning before work. Those attacks were not exclusively Asian. I don't condone attacking anybody because of race. I am Black/Hispanic myself. Whatever Trump said about Asians has been repeated and they have been targeted by those words. There are other reasons Blacks do not like Asians too. I try to be courteous to all races. It's hard to compose your self in this politically hostile world of the USA where everything is scrutinized and is excepted because of some oddball reason. We were taught in our younger years about right and wrong. Where did those days go? Even cursive writing is getting retired in parts of the USA. People of legal age need to learn this to sign documents when they reach this age. I believe President Biden made a statement and signed an executive order concerning this. And the great state of Texas and their isolationist rancor give the country a headache along with it's Senator Ted Cruz! Where is an Excedrin when you need one?

I've been blessed with a head that rarely aches and I've never had a migraine. Never a headache that stressed me. I've never even considered taking pills for a headache. I have those pain relievers in the fridge, but I can go years between taking them. I can't stand Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley or DeSantis. But they all are quite a ways behind Donald Trump for me when it comes to repugnance. It only takes 2 seconds of him to gross me out. Yes, every time.

I heard on the news last night something that astounded me. In my county, Alameda, the dominant ethnicity is Asian, they make up 31%. That's more than any other including whites. It's also true of Santa Clara County.

I like Asians. IMO they are by and large the least problematical ethnicity around. In addition, there's much to like. I won't get specific about either of these statements, but I could/can.

Uh the attacks have all made the news, this whole thread is about the violence against Asians from non-whites, which all made it to the news. I've been seeing these attacks circulating the news for a while now. But yea, going on a mass shooting rampage with 8 dead is definitely taking it to another level with media coverage - those tend to really get the exposure the most. A stabbing here, a racial slur there, a spitting incident or shove there, those get some traction, and deservedly so and should get a bit more perhaps, but a mass shooting? Yeah those go big time. I'm pleased that you wife has not experienced the numerous stories I've seen recalled not only by Asian reporters but people interviewed on the streets. I watched a few times Asian reports break down into tears live while covering the Atlanta story, recalling their own stories of abuse. The issue is the ever increasing scourge of racism in America.
