So .... Do you honestly believe they're against banning stuff like inter-racial marriage? (Sadly I don't despite only one GOP a$$-hat saying it out loud)

I do believe they are NOT trying to ban interracial marriage. It silly to think that they are IMO.

I certainly hope you're right about that but recently I've seen very little to make me feel confident.

Just being blatantly racist (and also completely insane) no longer seems to discourage a SIGNIFICANT number of people in the GOP. (and some of my fellow Dems on the far left too... defund the police in your OWN NEIGHBORHOOD not mine thanks!)

If you are against those things being forced down everyone's throat's I strongly suggest speaking up about it.... America is at the point where issues we may have believed were settled come back up for debate.

I'll say it again if Braun had advocated for Republicans to go pro choice leadership would have spoken up. Why is that?

Now I see you imply Republicans open participation in white nationalist events is cool. Cool for you people I guess.

So you refuse to tell us who exactly is taking part of this "Open Debate"?

1.) That is a guess on your part, but they may very well have said something about it. I think pro-choice is a more hot button issue than interracial marriage. Interracial marriage has become the accepted norm these days. There are a few @sshats that are against it, but not many.

2.) There you go again trying to drag me into the white nationalist crapolla. I didn't imply anything. I'm just refusing to be lead into something that is off the topic we are discussing.

so Homer gives you and pcgeek the information requested about Republican legislators actively trying to re-litigate interracial marriage, and somehow that is now "just his opinion."

Never mind that it's an actual legislator making an argument on current law from his rather powerful legislative platform. All you guys need to do is call something "opinion," and suddenly all power that they have to advance any idea is removed, conveniently, as you see fit.

Very...unclever strategy you people have constructed to separate your antipathy towards "inconvenient realities" from your very unfortunate prejudices, that would all just be fine and swell if some of these people just didn't speak so loudly.

No. Learn how to read. Homer said that the GOP is having an Open Debate about banning interracial marriage. I asked for a list of who was having a open debate other that this one asshole and his opinion, that doesn't make an open debate.

This is why people like @pcgeek11 don't see a problem with Republicans associating with white nationalists (blah-blah). Their continued mantra is racism doesn't matter. Just be glad you live in America. Kinda like not caring about the war in Ukraine just because your house isn't being blown up and your kids aren't being killed.

Keep trying. I haven't discussed white nationalist.

I love how your "opinions" about what people say always seem to run counter to what those same people actually say.

It's interesting.

Do you have a list of those other than Braun that are having this alleged open debate about banning interracial marriage?

He made the open debate claim, let him back it up. He don't need you to come bail him out.

To be fair I've only heard of the topic being mentioned recently the one time and to me "open debate" implies something like a bill being introduced which AFAIK has not happened.

My concern is that if it's being said openly even by one person it's almost certainly being discussed openly somewhere.

That should be sufficient to deeply disturb anyone.

Guess what, they got their justices sitting, and it's an assault on the changes made in the last 50 years. Including topics like this.

Shit heads like geek will just sit there voting for the same garbage as the most extreme R voter and just say "well, I'M not against, *shrug*"

Weak.

Strike that.... reverse it? ;)

I seriously had no idea it was that high.... not saying moms can't teach right from wrong too but in many cases a teenage boy just can't be controlled by mom alone especially if she also works full-time!

If you think absentee parents who work full time have an impact...
Wait until you hear that it's BOTH parents working full time in 2 parent households.

By and large, kids raise themselves.

you see one cockroach....

But yeah, the fact that this guy is bringing it up in the legislature, means this is what he is hearing at his constituents' town halls, letters from the scum that take the time to write to him, etc.

fuck just read the forum posts of the pieces of shit at The Red Pill or The Right Stuff, tajjy, compuwiz and such that openly profess to this type of insane and bald racism.

pcgeek: I don't think you're racist. You actually seem like an alright guy to me, just willfully naive about these things and simply don't give a fuck about the horrible things going on around you.

I have two grown daughters and both my ex and I worked full-time but I worked 3rd shift while she worked days and I did a ton of family-stuff.

It can be hard work but its NOT rocket-science! ;)

It can also be done without leaving your kids to be raised by somebody else or unsupervised to be raised by the street.

Been here longer then you! ;)

I don't think one person discussing something in an open debate implies that 'if there are one there are anything like vast numbers or even numbers significant' more at all. One doesn't have to become an absolutist one's self because modern Republicans have shown a profound propensity to go 'round the bend'. When you make an issue out of something like this it strikes me not as rational thinking but being triggered.

It could be anti gay, anti jew, anti women, anti black, anti-whatthefuckever ... depraved pieces of shits psychopaths have found a way to make this a way of living.

what kind of defense do you imagine for an elected public official just "fishing about" with this idea in a public forum, even if it isn't indicative of a wider movement beneath him?

what is the argument for allowing such a person to simply entertain the idea, wondering if it will stick?

:p WARNING: DEVILS ADVOCATE INCOMING! :p

Free speech does NOT exist to protect popular ideas.
It's a double-edged sword no doubt.

(Point being total douche or not he has the right to say it)
