I remember John making a comment during a recent show:

"I'm supprised people let us interview them." I tend to agree. :D

*havnet read the entire post*

But yeah i think all the interviews are done with real people but they are heavily edited. Like they actually interview them but if you look closely sometimes the correspondent will be talking with the camera view from behind him and the jaw isnt moving at all so really they must be just putting in stuff to make it funny...which..is the point..so its ok with me.

Borat from Kazakhstan.

Fixed.

Bite me. It's Kazachstan in German :p

And in English, the Daily Show is funny.

Could be, but the short part I've seen was rather tasteless.

Fair enough.

It's poltical humor/satire, it requires you to understand politics in order to laugh.
You may have a problem with that. ;)

Still, there are some things you just don't joke about IMO. Suicide bombers are one of those things.

I understand politics very well, and yet Jon Stewart still is not funny.

There seems to be a lot of teen angst in this thread.

It's a fake news show that, in the words of Jon Stewart, comes on after puppets making crank phone callls. I happen to like it, maybe you don't. Super, there are a lot of TV shows I don't like, but I don't feel the need to make threads where I cry about them like a little girl.

No, I'm fairly certain you don't.
Then you just don't like political humor, or most other humor for that matter. You don't laugh at anything but gay and jew jokes. Hmm.. I see a pattern.

Still, there are some things you just don't joke about IMO. Suicide bombers are one of those things.
As far as I'm concerned ANYTHING is open to be made fun of. Everything has a humor value, EVERYTHING.
If you can't laugh, you might as well be dead.

So making jokes about the holocaust or 9/11 can in a WAY be funny?

Absolutely. There are endless amounts of holocaust and nazi jokes. 9/11 is open game and has been for a while. The entire situation has been made into a joke.

Anything can be funny.

Listen, if you don't understand that everything can be funny, then you probably don't have a well developed since of humor anyway. There are two ways you can deal with things: Drama and Comedy. Schindler's List vs Life is Beautiful. People want to laugh at horrible things. It removes their power. Some of the best laughs you can get are in Horror movies, because people are so pent up with tension that they need to let it out.

That doesn't mean that 9/11 or the holocaust or cancer aren't horrible things, it just means being able to laugh at them once and a while at least makes you feel better about them.

Your assigment: go watch the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where Larry brought a Holocaust survivor to a dinner party where he met a Colby from the Tv Show "Survivor" and they argued about who had it worse.
