Pop - Northern IL...go a bit further south and the "special people" call it Soda. Lived in SF Bay area, got Pop/Soda 50/50, from what I can tell only ppl in states that voted for Bush w/more than 60% say "Coke" generically.

Soda.

Born in NY, currently live in South FL. Everyone I've ever known has called it soda.

Soda > pop

this reminds me of when my lame-o friend asked me to do him a "solid".
lol. and when I bought a new t-shirt that says 'keep on trukin'
-haha-weirdos.

When I'm visiting my home state and parents in Minnesota: Pop

When i'm at home in AZ: Soda.

semi funny, but ur mind's in the ghutter dood. although if u think about it, solid to me sounds like poop.
still makes no sense.

Soda, people who say pop are like 6 years old. I was watching an Anime where a 16yr old kid and a 8 year old kid were debating whether it was Soda or pop, the 16yr old said "Pop? What are you 6 years old"? And the 6 year old said somin else but dont remember. ITS SODA! PPL who say pop say POP because they dont get out or live in a small town where they all say pop. SODA! -N. Just over the southern OH line is becomes Coke for some reason. Don't get it- "You want orange coke?" was something I was asked at a Kentuncky Big Boy once...thought they had special drinks or something :)

State doesn't matter... cause upstate NY calls it pop and downstate NY (city, long island) calls it soda.

Being a Brit, to me Soda is actually the stuff in glass containers on a bar that people squirt into their whisky to water it down a bit.......

im guessing you guys are referring to coke tho (the fizzy drink, not the white powdery stuff...lol)

pop is, um, a noise something makes when it bursts really,.....

mostly we call coke or other drinks similar either fizz or soft drink.......

just thought i'd screw up the poll, now u gotta put the UK on the map...lol
