Is going to a strip club considered cheating??

Going to a strip club is not the same thing as working at a strip club, so the comparison is not really valid.

You can however compare men going to a strip club to women going to a strip club as customers.

So you're saying there's a big difference between watching and being watched? (I don't see it that way, but I'd like to hear reasons going the other way.)

Plus, the original thread stated:

I hear that often: There is nothing wrong with porn, prostitutes and strippers etc; that is as long it?s not their gf, wife, sister or Mother.

Fact of the matter is, if there is nothing wrong with it then there is nothing wrong with it on all levels.

From experience and watching those around me it amazes me how the men that I know say there is nothing wrong with paying to look at a body, but those same men puff up like roosters with sticks up their arses the moment a man looks at 'their woman' for more than 5 seconds.

Of course they are not identical for many reasons. A real obvious one is that going to the club for 1-2 hours once every three months is different than working there 20-40hrs a week.

I never said they were identical. I was looking for a significant difference -- i.e., a justification for how one is okay and the other is not. If the difference is indeed the amount of time... then how much time is okay? Set the line at X hours, and justify why less than X hours is okay, and more than X is not.

I fully realize that you may not care at all to make this argument. I'm just saying that as males, we must justify our positions if we don't wish to be labeled as chauvenistic.

This happened to me too. I didn't even pay for the lapdances, and she was SUPER PISSED! I guess she had a right to be, but then she left my ass anyway (not directly because of lapdance) 😛

So have you already had the strippers/lapdances, or are you just considering it?

Can anybody on this board, that is married/engaged/intimately involved honestly say that they haven't looked at a member of the opposite sex and say - "damn, that's a fine piece of ass", that wasn't their significant other?

I find it very, very, VERY hard to believe that you haven't committed this "adulterous" act. And if you have done this, and you agree that strip clubs are indeed cheating, how do you differentiate between the two acts?

Maybe this is just me (I seriously doubt it) but no matter how much "in love" I am, I'd be lying to myself and to my significant other to say that I don't find any other women attractive. Better to be honest with myself and with her, imo.

But then I guess it's debatable as to exactly what is considered "crossing the line."

There's a BIG difference between spending all your time (job) doing something and spending only a little bit of time. Think about it. If you are playing games everyday for 8 hours a day, vs a guy that plays 1 hour every week. You tell me there's no difference between the two just based on time only, and I'll call you crazy.
