Birthday is special to me.

  • I do whatever I want!

  • I don't give a @#$%!

It isn't a big deal to me anymore. But don't get me wrong, I like the cake 😉 That may change when the cake has more candles than icing on top, but I have a while before that happens 😀

I feel that pretending to celebrate the occasion masks the depressing realization, that another year went by, and you're one year closer to death, with nothing to show for it.

I like low-key celebrations, like going out to a nice dinner, or having a few drinks at a classier bar with some friends.

That day is every day. At least for me.

I never really cared much about birthdays. I don't like being the center of attention. Then there's the gifts - UGH! People ask me what I want and I don't really want anything, yet they insist on giving me a present so I usually have to come up with something. I dunno. Fuck me.

With a wife, 10 year old son, and 9 year old daughter I don't get a lot of time to do whatever I want without feeling guilty or attempts made to make me feel guilty.

I realized, I think that I want my friends to at least acknowledge my bday, but I don't need a fancy party, gifts, or anything for that matter.

I do not care about my birthday at all..
Went for dinner with a few friends one night, and saw my folks the next night. That was it and all I would ever want.
