I like having a day where I can do whatever I want.
As a young child, one who knew very well that you do not say "shut up" to an adult, I was confined to a high chair, while a group of relatives sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I, who did not like lots of people or loud noise, completely lost it, and screamed those forbidden words at all of them....and they laughed a bit and continued on, unimpeded.I'm indifferent, and I don't like being the center of attention. Birthdays quit being special around hitting double digit age.
Hi, Jeff. Want some cake?As a young child, one who knew very well that you do not say "shut up" to an adult, I was confined to a high chair, while a group of relatives sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I do handle it a bit better these days.
Though I'm still not big on attention like that. Or loud noise. Or groups of people.
But other than that!....
Assk for Jamaican coffee. That day is every day. At least for me.
I never really cared much about birthdays. I don't like being the center of attention. Then there's the gifts - UGH! People ask me what I want and I don't really want anything, yet they insist on giving me a present so I usually have to come up with something. I dunno. Fuck me.
Even better now I'm in my 40s.
I skipped 40...I went from 39 to...39 again...to 41

29 for the 20th time......I'm with you there.
I love my birthday! Even better now I'm in my 40s.
