There is a big difference between how a museum displays a lot of WW II memorabilia, and having a single nazi flag in your room.
Think of the difference between an exposition on Al Qaida and its deeds and motives, and you having a large banner in your room reading "Long live Al Qaida! We'll come back to NYC 9/11 2003!"

now, since when is security and money involved or did i read your post all wrong???? if you are trying to live in your house and some asshole comes and tried to shoot at you you will shoot back, or you will try to stop them from shooting in the first place, you will take preventative steps.

Not sure if this is directed at me. But, in a thread of "is a nazi flag a collectors item", talking about israel vs palestine is quite off topic.
Anyway, I'm sure Arafat just held his gun to the heads of all the suicide bombers, and palestinian soldiers and such, and forced them to do what they did.

I apologize, I guess you've never heard the phrase "nickel & dime", I suppose I should have put quotes around it. I was referring to the way the Germans killed "undesirables" and the way the Israelis are killing Palestinians.
How so? Is it displayed along with White Supremicist(sp?) articles? I see nothing wrong with displaying a Nazi flag in a room in your home, it's all about context. I would definately display a Nazi flag (properly protected in a case after authentication) in my computer room...then again that's also my study and all my books (computer, school, historical, etc...) are there. As soon as I get proper mountings I will be displaying a K-98 rifle, a P-38, a ring made from the canopy glass of a ME-109, and a belt buckle with the swastika & eagle logo.

Yes, it's a collectors item, if it's authentic. It would make a good part of a serious World War II collection. It would not, however, be the place to start. That way, it wouldn't be alone.
Having a Nazi flag by itself, even if it is the first item in a collection, is not a good idea. I'd personally at least have an American, British, French, German, Italian, Soviet, Japenese, and Chinese National set of flags in a collection.

The question of the financial value of the thing depends on the provenance. That means how much documentation/information do you have about where it came from and where it's been since then.
Exactly. If it were a genuine WWII-era Nazi flag, it would be a "collector's item" but only as part of a WWII or Holocaust exhibit, not intended to glorify Nazism.
