Going that route (Not by itself) would also beg the question, why display a Cross on your wall? Roman Catholics werent known to be good neighbors. ;)

Ok, so I wouldnt display it by itself, I'm just playing devils advocate. But I *would* love to have one!! (An authentic Nazi flag) I have a deep interest in WWII, so anything from that time period interests me.

Not to be professor know it all, but

look up "begging the question".

It's not what you think.

Professor Feralkid?!

Wheres that damned link to all those fallicies. I *do* want to look it up actually. (Gonna be another slow night at work, need something to do.)

Just type it in Google.....It's pretty interesting.

SammySon, please don't take this the wrong way, but WTF would you want a NAZI flag? And before your call me out and say it's a "vintage" flag, how do you know this? Again And to quote you SammySon:

Quote

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just because I'd like to have one, does not mean I support their views. Get a grip people.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you really feel that way, my condolences and don't forget to ask for a refund from your school as you obviously haven't learned enough IMHO.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, I havn't learned enough. I guess we should fly a french flag after all of their atrocities in south east asia. Or mabey we should fly a british flag, they never mentioned having an empire the sun never sets on. Mabey a Iranian flag, or a North Korean flag, or a Saudi Arabian flag, they are SO friendly!. Or mabey a Cambodian flag, because we all ADORED POL POT, didn't we! Or, we could fly the BEST flag of all the American flag, because it stands for everything that is good in the world of men.
Now I have no idea if its vintage or not, and there would be no underlying reasons for me TO know. So, don't imply that I'm a nazi. What if I was just a collector of historic icons? Would I be a nazi then? Anyway, I can name a thousand original cultural icons I'd love to posses to put on display for others, but that in no way means I support thoes ideals the icon stands for.
If you make that impossible implication I believe that you are the one who should ask your school for not teaching you about logic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sammyson, if you haven't learned anything about history, please take some classes. there is no vintage/antique value to the nazi flag unless you are a nazi/racist/bigot.

collectors item if you are in the KKK.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope, I went to one of thoes universities that didn't require history for a BS.
rolleye.gif

So, you're telling me there is no historic value to say... confederate war relics? Mabey there is no value to thoes old houses on PLANTATIONS? No value to British opium era hooka pipes from china? There is no value to mongolian relics? No value to original things from the witch hunts of salem, mass.?

You are telling me there is no value in our history. That we must shun and forget our past and "move on" right? Just like it never happened? We should burn and destroy all known existing relics of any society, culture, nation, peoples, that are determined to be "evil"

I think YOU are the one that should go to school, mabey you should graduate high school first.
I am NOT saying that I support the nazi, or kkk ideals. I in no way implied that I support nazi/kkk ideals. You are NOT defined by WHAT YOU OWN. That is a horribly sickening corporate American ideal.

What I find funny, is that something like a nazi flag is shunned like a leper. But items such as GUNS and CANNONS and SWORDS are coveted items. Devices that claim fame by killing other humans. Excellent.
You people speak as if you know the worth of everything, and the value of nothing.

Sweet Mother of God! I actually agree with the majorityof a SammySon post.

same thing as a confederate flag, i wouldn't display one of those either because of what it represents, but apparently some people like to display both, oh well, to each their own, i wouldn't worry about it either way

sorry, i do have a life beyonf OT, but not much of it....had to get some dinner.

last i checked, the nazi flag was a symbol of the death of some six million jews and 200,000 - 500,000 gypsies

also, the nazi flag is used, in various incarnations, by neo-Nazis, racist skinheads and other white supremacist groups. adl website

maybe as a Jew I am prejudiced, but as a human being I am actually disgusted.

So you have no interest in history then? Am I reading that correct?

I'm sure there are Palestinians who are disgusted by the Star of David.

i am fascinated by history and love talking to people, reading books, going to lectures and etc. but when it comes to something that has come to mean the murder of so many innocent people, it really sickens me.
there are millions of Palestinians who abhor the star of david, but this is completely in a different context. who knows, g-d willing there will be peace in the middle east and things will change, but the star of david will never be associated with anything remotely close to the holocaust.

You didn't respond to my post at all. So I'll take it that you agree, or that you're avoiding it totally. We both have lives, but, don't start a flamewar and walk away.
I'm Italian/polish, and I don't hate the germans for invading poland or the moors for invading sicily. I'm sure both of my families were robbed, pillaged and raped in thoes time periods.

Blind hate is the strongest of prejudices, and you seem to be blinded.
If you look further in the history of the Nazi party, you see Germany as nation rise out of complete demise, a great victory for them.
But in the end, it took a horrible turn.

Completely different context? I guess instead of wholesale slaughter of a people, the Israeli government is better for nickel & dimeing the Palestinian people to death?

Yes, they were. Higgins was a smart guy. In 1939 I think he bought all of the Philippine's mahogany harvest because he knew a war was coming.

Right, genocide versus apartheid.

Well, see, history is FULL of the murder of innocent people. In fact, that's the mainstay!

You know here, down in the South, a lot of people are proud of it. :Q

Yes, they were. Higgins was a smart guy. In 1939 I think he bought all of the Philippine's mahogany harvest because he knew a war was coming.

He was a brilliant designer but was seriously lacking in business skills.
