So I'm sitting in my office on campus and some guy fitting this description ran in, grabbed my i-Pad and ran out.

So that was fun... I'm fat and he is skinny... so no catching him.

He got an i-Pad 2 w/ blue-tooth keyboard-case: I hope that's one less house he has to break into in-order to meet his 'needs'.

...no Mobile ME so no GPS tracking...

I'm thinking this means it's time to leave the i-pad world.


So, any suggestions for a replacement?


I need it to have a good PDF manager.
 
Um... didn't Apple make the "find my iphone/ipad" app free a while back? For your next one why not have it installed and set up just in case.

I'm thinking I'll go to the two local pawn shops tomorrow and find myself a nice-cheep iPad with blue-tooth key-board 🙂

OP, I assume by now you reset all passwords that iPad had saved such as email, apps, etc. Last thing you want now is ID theft.

It's much less ghetto than my last college;

Las-Cruces is a fairly nice city of 100k people; 40% hispanic with average income and education that's much higher than where I'm from.

I assume by now you reset all passwords that iPad had saved such as email, apps, etc.

Any tablet that will run PowerPoint/Excel/Word/browse the Internet/ play chess/spider solitaire?

I am tired of dragging my full sized laptop around when I travel for work.

Hey, I graduated from NMSU! I never had any problems with petty theft there. Sorry about the phone.
 
At one of my clients, a guy cased out an office, stepped in and grabbed a guy's Iphone off the charger while I was there. I got on the camera system and long story short, somebody on the staff recognized him and called the family up, and got it back.

A netbook would work, and a 9" will fit in a BDU cargo pocket. Don't know about 10"
