Man this sucks the demand is no where like it was for the 2. If anyone wants a sealed lack wifi 32 gig for cost and shipping let me know before I return it

I believe it's more the case that Apple concentrated most of their inventory in the US. After this weekend, I think they'll start shipping the rest to other countries. So we im the US all get first dips.

I think the demand is still fairly high overall, (It's 2-3 weeks shipping time from Apple's website) but this time Apple managed to get more supply into the market. Additionally, they launched in more countries this time around so I think there's less demand from people who would need to import from other countries.

Modern Combat 3 is only 1.7GB on my device. Rage HD is 2GB, Gangstar Rio is 1.7GB, Real Racing 2 1.1GB, Infinity Blade 2 1.1GB, Galaxy On Fire 2 HD is 649MB, Mass Effect Infiltrator is 1GB. None of these have been updated except maybe for Real Racing 2.

So you could use all of them except RR2 to compare against the updated files.

Interesting revelation. I have been using a white version for two days now, and initially, I thought it would distract me more than the black one due to the white frame, but apparently, it's actually more pleasing to look at.

Perhaps that's because with the white frame, bright screens just blend in, and it doesn't look like I'm hitting some black border while moving my eyes around. It might also be because the walls in my room are painted white.

Wanted to try something different this time around, and it turns out I may like white better after all.

So i set up my moms iPad last night (which i chose because it had worse light leak than the one i chose 😀), and fast forward to today when I wanted to set mine up. I immediately noticed something was off. Pictures confirm this, and she notices it too. Here are three images (left: her iPad, right: my iPad):

Does anyone see the difference? It's more dramatic in real life. It looks so much darker and more washed out...way less vibrant. In addition, there's like...a slight pink hue when you look at my screen at angles. I really don't feel like playing the return game, but her iPad is an absolute pleasure to use and mine looks like crap relatively speaking. Sorry for the crappy images lol. Thoughts? Thanks...

😀 GL.

Online places like MacMall, B&H, and J&R have most models in stock ready with free shipping. And no tax unless you live in few select states.

But you have to call and place your order. Apple isn't allowing retailers online ordering for shipping. Authorized Apple retailers can only sell online for store pickup. Only place you can order online for shipping is directly from Apple. Crazy rule by Apple.

I would return. I can see the difference easily from the pictures.

There've been similar problems in the past with previous iPhones. I'm not sure if this is the same issues as in those cases it was a yellow color. The underlying cause for the iPhones was that the glue used on the screens hadn't fully cured yet, causing some discoloration. If it's the same issue, it should go away in about two weeks or so. If it hasn't been resolved by then, I'd suggest swapping it for a new one or contacting Apple about it to see if there're other solutions.

I suppose i do have another couple weeks. I could just wait it out. It was just so surprising when i looked at it, then put them side by side. I almost never get a good apple product on the first try lol.

I guarantee you the next one will be perfect, but have horrible backlight bleeding or dead pixels. 🙁

I would return. I can see the difference easily from the pictures.

Glad i'm not totally crazy, thanks!

May also want to check Apple's online support forums to see if anyone else has the same problem. It's pretty obvious that the color is wonky just from looking at it so I have a hard time thinking it would get through QA like that.

Here's this update for you guys in devices and gadgets:

Pics showing the awful red tint, the (minor, rather good actually) backlight bleed, and this mystery problem of the LEDs actually showing:

I'm just gonna go to the apple store. I honestly can't get a defect free apple product. arghhhhhhh

So are there any good magnetic "Smart Covers" with the rear case for the iPad3 that anyone can recommend yet? Any on eBay yet someone can recommend or somewhere else?

I'm looking for the exact same thing. Currently, I have the sleeve from Incipio for my iPad. I bought it originally for the TouchPad when everything was slashed and it looks like it was a great idea because it's the same exact sleeve.

Anyway, I'm looking at the Apple store, but they seem to be down right now. I've been thinking I want a Smart Cover, but I want a rear housing as well. Do I even need the rear housing? How scratch proof is the back of the iPad?

My screen is half and half and it's kind of bothering me... Half is cool while it slightly turns up the heat and is a little bit red.

🙁

This heating issue will become bigger and bigger just like antennagate.
Mine is kind of warm too just on every day use. It's been on the local news so you know it's a big issue. I haven't tried to play any games yet though.

I think people are overreacting to the warmth. My iPad 2 did heat up as well. In fact, since it was a black bezel, it heat up a hell of a lot under direct sunlight, and the device constantly gave the "lemme cool off dammit" warning.

My white iPad 3 hasn't done that yet, and I've taken her out lots.
