We're not saying you're lying about results.

But i'm questioning how it's even possible since it completely denies all logic & completely goes against all other benches i've seen of it.

Just doesn't add up TBH...

But heh, i suppose miracles can happen...

I think those benchmarks just changed my mind about getting an AMD system, conroe is going to own amd's cpus.

Do you realize that the XE is equivlent to around 7GHZ with a pentium 4, that's absolutly insane.

While I dont disagree it may be a huge lead in the end the fact you (and trust me I want to add a comment hear) have commented after synthetic benches really states volumes where this forum has gone.....

I though I was going to read something really comprehensive...You haven't even waited until all the test were done...

disclaimer...I am going to buy the exact model so dont label me as a fanboy....just tired of some of you ppl...

Duvie, get over yourself. The benchmarks were done very well. Just cuz he didn't benchmark the exact programs you wanted, doesn't mean they were not informative.

Your attitude really leaves something to be desired. That's why you will never be anything in this forum but a mod wannabe! Sounds like your jealous of compgeek89 cuz he is on the cutting edge and you are just a back seat driver. Go play with your encoding benchmarks and let helpful people with a genuine personality post here.

Sorry to crap the thread compgeek89, good work!

All good rogue!

Hey, I'm just here to report, from here you can take it how you want.

I used the exact same settings, and even the same operating system install on each set of benchmarks. It could not be any more precisely done by me, im not saying it wouldnt be possible... but i couldnt do it.

Hmm, one thing your benches do show is what games are very CPU-dependent/RAM bandwidth dependent @ 1600x1200.

Seems somehow FEAR is, & also Oblivion gets a huge boost, especially minimum fps.

For the GPU-bound games, there's no benefits...

Hey compgeek89- I have a special request. If you have any extra time could you run 2 instances of PI 1M (1 on each core) at 3GHz?:)

Held up pretty good spliting the cache up instead of having 1 core get the full 4MB. Impressive. Thanks again! Have fun with that this weekend....

This happened to them, you tell me

3.0ghz = 68fps
2.6ghz = 78fps
2.4ghz = 85fps
2.2ghz = 95fps
2.0ghz = 100fps
1.8ghz = 112fps
1.6ghz = 124fps
1.4ghz = 141fps
1.2ghz = 165fps

Hey compgeek, any chance of you running some of the those benchmarks again with a single GPU? Maybe the FEAR and Oblivion benches at 1600x1200 4AA/16AF? The reason I ask is I'm wondering if the crazy numbers you're getting have to deal in part with SLI's overhead. Maybe the Opteron can't quite take care of it but the Conroe just monster's through it. The results are still very impressive even if Conroe is just taking care of SLI overhead, but I think I speak for a majority of gamers out there who are curious if the same gains will be realized with single gpus.

Well, I cannot test single GPU on the opteron, i no longer have it. But i could do that on the Conroe.
