UserBenchmark appears to record the all-core Turbo frequency. With the Core i3-9100, UserBenchmark lists 4.0 GHz Turbo (avg).



i5-10600 is 3.3 GHz base, 4.5 GHz Turbo. (by _rogame and picked up by more mainstream media)

Comet Lake looks to be a very lazy update to Core i3 and i5 in frequency. +200 MHz from Coffee Lake 2017.

Does seem like Intel is going ahead with the 10 core despite the shortage. If the 6 core products do get released first, the time gap may not be that long.

New things:
- Mostly confirms the core and thread counts rumored, and the move to 125 W for all K.
- No i3 K model.
- Pentium and Celeron are still dual core.
- Chipsets have no new features, and they are still reusing the 22 nm one at the low end.

I don't think 10 core desktop without a GPU is a big enough market to justify a whole new die. Laptops are the majority of PC sales.

And now Videocardz has the final specs, maybe? The 10900K has a single core turbo of 5.1, 5.2 or 5.3 depending on how you look at it. They are also upping the stock memory speed to 2933 which is useful.

Slides look real but remember that the source is from spain and december 28 is their own version of april fools' day. it's not that difficult to take an old slide (like this) and photoshop it and apply a blur effect or something and that water mark....

Intel is the owner of the fabs and the designs, they are an all-in-one company, and right now are out of capacity they should already have done that yesterday and they would be already late to do it.

BTW, looked and looks like 2013 was the last time Intel had desktop volume increase. This year it's down 10%. Now some of that this year is due to the shortage.

Are the LGA1200 and LGA1159 sockets two faces of the same coin?

Funny, Toms seems to think there's going to be two sockets for Comet Lake - LGA 1159 and LGA 1200. Not sure how that would work.

Edit: I guess it would make sense if they were preparing for Rocket Lake and really need the juice (and OEMs don't want the additional expense). The 1200 would be K only.

It's only LGA 1200 but some tools say it's LGA 1159, they just need an update and all is fine.
