Isn't that a 10nm laptop processor? Or am I thinking of something else?

I thought Intel has been making a few lower wattage notebook processors with a 10nm node?
That's Icelake. Intel's 10th? generation is going to be a mismash of different chips.

Thank you for informing me. I'm finding it hard to keep track of road maps of future processors and chipsets from both AMD and Intel.

Stupid question, but what does the +2 stand for? iGPU?

And does this list confirm 10-core desktop Comet Lake?

Seems like 28w SKUs but instead of Iris Graphics, they added more cores instead
And they could just do a 4 core Comet Lake model for 5/15W and just kind of slide in the Icelake as allowed by the yields. Or they could just refresh Whiskey again.

Yeah. That or 28w 4c with higher clocks in general

I’m assuming that 6+2 U part will be >20w TDP
Unfortunately, there was no mention of TDP in the leak.

There is a 25W CML-U with unknown number of cores without Iris graphics in the NUC roadmap. It might be the 6+2 U.

What's CLX-X supposed to be? Cascade Lake-X? Also, will IceLake-U/Y really be ready by Aug/Sept? I had thought Dec 2019 for those . . .

Yeah Cascade Lake-X. As for Icelake, there was a thinkpad leak suggesting there would be very very small quantities made available in June but perhaps it's being held back to August/September now.

hello everyone this is my first post here, so i wanted to share my predictions for the 10-core -k chip:

TDP: """"95W""""
Base clock: 3,5 GHz
Boost clock(1 Core): 5,1 GHz
Boost clock(All Cores): 4,5 GHz

They said holiday 2019, but it could be just a safe timeline they gave.

The 25/28W Comet Lake chips are going to be in conflict with Icelake U chips. It could end up having low adoption, with most manufacturers going for the 45W CFL-H Refresh or 15W Icelake. There's just little room between the two.

Icelake being a very limited launch isn't going to go well either. It could work if the only thing they launch is the 5.2W Y version. If any U chips are available customer preference will skew very much towards Icelake over any 14nm ones.

Either they launch Y only or U is going to be more widespread than it looks like.

Seems pretty likely there will be 15W Quad and Dual core Comet Lake now, if you see above.

If any U chips are available customer preference will skew very much towards Icelake over any 14nm ones.
If the Thinkpad leak is any indication, The QC Icelake will be limited to only very expensive low volume laptop models.

So how many different laptop processor groups will Intel have on the market at once in (most of) 2019? IceLake, CFL-H refresh, Whiskey Lake, Comet Lake . . . ?
