In-N-Out Burger comin' to Texas!

It would have to be in West Texas, although one rumor says Dallas. They have very strict conditions on how far a location can be from their distribution center, and I'm assuming it would come out of Arizona, unless they build a new one for Texas.

Of course I don't really believe this rumor... for now.

Well if this is true then it would make much mores sense to build a new distribution center to enter the new market.

In N Out is SO over rated. Just like Avatar.
People just think it's cool to like it. Posers.

Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks this way..

Only burger chains that I think are decent enough given their spread are Ruby's and Island's. Well, so-so on islands, I think I like Ruby's more.

NO KIDDING 🙁

I grew up in NC... I now go to school in MA. No godamn Bojangles for miles and miles and miles. It's horrible. No people who understand what "iced tea" means either. Ugh.

Also, wake me when in-n-out comes to the northeast. why does the northeast have no exciting fast food??

I've seriously considered writing Bojangle's corporate and asking about opening my own damn franchise--this was when living in Chicago, now living on the west coast.

Fuck man--REAL fried chicken, REAL fucking biscuits, REAL sweet tea! Country fucking ham!!! They'd make a killing out here once people were exposed to this. Fast Food version, yes; but it's as close to you get to the real thing.

KFC is a ghost town wherever Bojangle's can be found. Likewise, Popeyes barely has exposure, as any informed person would quickly understand.

The first thing I do when I get back to NC, is a filet biscuit combo, then a quarter white with fries, free iced tea (the next day, most likely)!

I'll send you some Bojangles if you'll send me some Popeye's. Not that I can't get Popeye's here, but I'd have to either take a long drive or hang out at RDU. Oh and send me a Jamba Juice and a Togo's sandwich while you're at it!

Given a choice between Five Guys and In-n-out, I go to In-n-out 100% of the time. Yes, there are places where you do have that choice to make.

I would like Five Guys more if they had better bread/didn't wrap it in aluminum which makes everything soggy - I usually get my In-n-out with extra toast.

Hahaha I have thought about opening my own franchise... that'd be epic. People here think KFC is awesome fried chicken. 🙁 There's so much untapped market potential for Boj's!

Don't think I've ever eaten at Popeye's. We don't have that chain here either.

I'm all about (super) tailgate specials (all dirty rice, mmmmmm) when I go home on break. If ate like that normally, I'd be a diabetic fatass after so much chicken and tea.

Fried chicken and then barbecue. There's no BBQ up here either. You ever been to Lexington Barbecue? Best ever.

WHAOMG!

Actually a friend just called the corporate HQ and while they wouldn't confirm/deny the number or exact locations, apparently the long-rumored... rumor... is finally true.

Praise the lard!

Whataburger puts In-N-Out to shame!!

I love how people act like In N Out is just popular because it's the cool in place. I remember going 25 years ago and the lines were every bit as long as they are now. In-N-Out really is that damn good, and this is coming from a guy who has eaten at every burger place there is. And consumes over 10 burgers a week. Now with that said Tommys shits all over both In-N-Out & Five Guys.

I supplement with Church's. It's next in line of quality, imo. Popeye's is mostly as offensive as KFC in my book! 😛

I've eaten at Togo's once, but the closest one that I know if is 30 minutes away. No Jamba Juice, really? I thought those were everywhere by now

Lexington is great, of course. I'm a big fan of Wilbur's down on 70, as well as the standards, like Smithfield's. For what is in all sense of the term a fast food franchise, Smithfield's is damn epic.

My favorite in Raleigh is Ole Time. Last time I was home (January), I flew back 4 pints of frozen Ole Time BBQ. Fuck, it was glorious.

I would submit that someone who indulges in so many burgers per week has killed their sense of taste. One burger must be ~ the next burger.

I really don't get In N Out. there is nothing they do that is inherently unique to their burgers. It has that smaller, local feel to it, so I suppose it comes mostly from being established as your comfortable childhood place. The only special thing about them is that their real menu exists in some nebulous cultural mind hive, and "only those who know will truly know"--but in the end, all it amounts to is how one properly orders ketchup, or gets an extra slice of cheese on their burger. Nothing special in terms of the physical burger experience.

it's totally mental.

Oh come on, Popeye's is way better than KFC. Or at least they were a few years ago. I just love the Popeye's chicken strips with their BBQ sauce. I never really ate their other chicken though, just the strips.

The only Jamba Juice around here is on the UNC campus.

No 2 burgers taste the same, yesterday I had a uber gourmet one from The Counter, I'll probably have one from Tommy's today. Burgers are like Beer to me, I can eat/drink either every day and never get tired of them. My taste buds are finely honed. Actually a burger and a beer sounds awesome I think that will be my lunch 😀

Indeed they are, but when I say "next in line," and you consider that KFC sits below the quality level of that "rancid pile of rendered fat sitting in your back yard," there isn't too much you can derive from that placement. 😀

For me, In-N-Out has the commitment to quality and cleanliness. I recently the book written about In-N-Out and this very private company, and I do have to admit, I was impressed by their business practices.

Harry Snyder, the man behind it all, was a stickler on how his restaurants were run. He didn't believe in debt, so at the beginning, In-N-Out owned all their stores, meaning the land the stores also stood on. Nowadays, that's nearly impossible if they want to continue expanding, but they had a very low debt load when the company started.

He had his own butchers, mandated the width of the slices of the tomato, decreed only certain parts of the lettuce could be used, along with specific instructions on the sponge for the buns. The only newer additions to the menu have been adding Dr. Pepper and 7-Up (secret menu excluded.)

He always believed, from the beginning, if you pay your employees quality wages, you will get quality work. All employees started at the same place - sweeping up and taking out the trash, before they "graduated" to the fries, the grill, or leafing the lettuce. CA In-N-Out employees make 10 dollars an hour - they have always paid well, and it actually shows in their employees. It might look like a bunch of young high schoolers, but they are very well trained and are actually competent. The company also believes in promoting from within, and excellent managers do move up in the company, managing new stores and going to corporate. There was a time they had too many good managers and not enough stores.

I don't really care if the "fries suck." I actually like the fact I could watch the employees wash, peel, slice, fry and serve the potatoes instead of coming out of a brown paper bag from a distribution center halfway across the country, frozen two months before.

Hmm, this post makes it sound like I drink a lot of In-N-Out kool aid...

The rep on the phone said the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex was definitely getting "more than one" In-N-Out, but said they couldn't comment on the exact locations. Apparently Anna, TX is one of the candidates for a distribution center - that might give them Tulsa, and Little Rock markets, maybe part of Louisiana also.

freesia39 I use to strongly dislike the fries, but they've grown on me since I was a child. I order them extra crispy and I actually like them a lot now. Also a 4x4 protein style is AWESOME. Their Lettuce is some of the best imho, I rarely get a burger with a bun there, and next to no other places have a Lettuce wrapped burger.
