Five Guys is greasy, lard coated shit in a bag.

In-N-Out is fucking heavenly. Nothing beats a double double with grilled onions.

Hmm, I can only assume you have no tongue, or had your taste buds removed in some sort of science experiment. :hmm:

The rep on the phone said the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex was definitely getting "more than one" In-N-Out, but said they couldn't comment on the exact locations. Apparently Anna, TX is one of the candidates for a distribution center - that might give them Tulsa, and Little Rock markets, maybe part of Louisiana also.

Anna? Good luck finding people who want to live THERE, lol.

meh.

Wake me when Bojangle's opens a franchise outside of the South East. And more importantly, in the Bay Area! :(

They're holding it hostage until you guys start exporting your "It's It" ice cream treats. Damn......I think I got fatter right now, just thinking about those!!

My conclusion is that you are not actually human, but part of an alien invasion force here to decrease the human race's morale by spreading your evil lies and substandard burgers.

Viva la Five Guys!

Meh. I don't hate In-n-out, it's decent, but it definitely tastes like fast food and I'm not a huge fan of fast food. Probably has at least something to do with that sauce they put on it. The people I know up here that have tried Five Guys (only 4 of us so far, so small sample size) think it actually tastes like a burger you would make at home and has flavour at not just the greasy mess that is In-n-out.

Different strokes I guess, you just probably like fast food more than I do.

In and Out is average at best. Their fries suck compared to most of the competition, they're usually so soggy they might as well make mashed potatoes out of them.

Actually I hate fast food for the most part (KFC grilled chicken being the exception, and In-n-out obviously when I'm on the west coast) and I thought Five Guys was closer to what you'd get off a value menu. It was greasy, mushy, no taste and not even all that much meat for $6. Nothing like what in-n-out has and definitely not like what I can make at home.

My conclusion is people who say they don't like In-N-Out have never eaten at In-N-Out.

Five Guys can DIAF with that trash they sell.

We got two In-n-outs in Tucson now, first one opened about a year 1/2 ago. Five Guys is also coming to tucson soon, looking forward to trying it. I like In-n-Out a lot. Their fries aren't too great though...unless you eat them right away maybe, but even then.

Wonder why it took In-n-out and Five Guys so long to branch out.

your description of Five Guys is perfect for In N Out fries.

I've never had Five Guys, so I can't comment. But I do know that In N Out fries are some of the worst in all of fast food. That's kind of important, in my book.

While it's not a chain, many cities have their own version of a place like Char Grill (Raleigh, NC). By far, these are the best damn burgers (Fucking STEAK burgers!!) in the fast food world.

yes, hard to compare them to the In N Out and McDonald's class of restaurants, but if you have a walk-up char-grilling burger joint in your city, it tends to be the absolute best.

Funny thing, I've still never had an It's It, and I drive by the factory almost every other week. I thought they were just an Ice Cream company, and only learned this past weekend that "It's It" describes a specific product: some kind of uber ice cream sandwich/cookie thingy? I am on a new mission....

Blue Sky Texas = Burger Heaven. Problem is its limited to Amarillo and Lubbock.

Far better than Five Guys(Lubbock has 2 Five Guys) or In and Out(have it when I go to Vegas).

It will probably be Austin since we are basically a suburb of Los Angeles these days.

I hope that is true. I tried the 5 Guys they opened up over by UT, it was okay. It certainly didn't seem in the same class as In-N-Out. Maybe I need to go again, could have been a new cook or something. I'd take P Terry's or Whataburger over 5 Guys.

For "real" burgers as some people mentioned, we have Hut's here in Austin that easily puts 5 Guys to shame.

Maybe they do things slightly different up here then, or we caught them on a good day, but ours were not greasy at all. We both commented on how we did not feel gross afterwards like we normally would after eating a burger that big. :hmm:

Even though franchises preach uniformity and consistency, quality often varies greatly location to location. I've several Five Guys locations nearby but the one nearest to me isn't as clean and the food quality is subpar compared to the one 5 miles away. That one has fresh food with awesome burgers and clean fries.

Same is true for McDonalds, Wendy's, and other chains. Stick to ones in more affluent areas and it's usually better experience.
