Wars are not the only (or even major) examples of violence. Violence fueled by religious fervor/belief is responsible for more human suffering and death over a longer portion of humanity's existence.
Anyone who believes the Middle East wouldn't be less violent or less dangerous or less of a threat to the rest of the world without religious belief/fervor is not paying attention, at best.. and a complete fool, at worst.

A long history of human violence for a myraid of reasons. As you noted, not just wars, but murders, assaults, rapes, etc. Even our sports are violent (and lead to violence - look at the rioting following big wins). Religion is just one reason for violence among many - nationality, ethnicity, etc.

Let's just take one example. The concepts of God and religion that you say are wishful thinking and made up shit, are your own.
