There is a sure fire way of guaranteeing Trump won't run in 2024.

Create a law that Presidential candidates must release their full tax returns from the last 10 years.

if it is done now ex post facto wouldn't apply.

Lol because other politicians have said the word fight then that automatically means when trump used the word fight it’s ok and they say this after having told us that context was important to them. Lol

From his own speech on Jan6.

Trump's context of fight is "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

Without subtext, there is no case.

Haven't seen it, but saw a tweet by a journalist saying Trump's lawyers are casting Trump as a "rule of law" president? Are they serious or is that a comedy act?

Playing videos of him saying law order over and over. Feels like propaganda from an alternative reality.

Michael Steele said it best a few minutes ago when he said WELL, LOOKS LIKE TRUMP WON’T BE PAYING THESE LAWERS EITHER.

All that Trump lawyers need to do is give republicans like Ted Cruz and the others an excuse or some lame talking point for their acquittal of Donald Trump. But with Cruz this is interesting. Ted Cruz has but only one motivation, Ted Cruz believes that he will be the new Donald Trump come 2024. Cruz will definitely run in 2024, and Cruz will run as a Donald Trump. But here is Ted’s problem.... what will Ted do if Donald Trump also decides to run in 2024? Then what Ted? We would have the battle of all battles to determine which Trump, Ted or Donald, is the most Trumpian? So let’s just wait and see if Ted Cruz can divide the current Trump base into two parts, the old Donald Trump base and the new Ted Cruz base? Should be interesting to watch that explosion.

I haven’t watched or listened to any of the defense today... but based on my Twitter feed this seems to have gone off the rails quite quickly. Ted Cruz went back to Defense’s chambers. Something was blamed on “NEGRO block voting??” And did they really use the phrase “incitement to resurrection?”

Umm we can see videos of the protesters themselves saying trump invited them and that they are fighting for trump. But I guess Trump’s lawyer didn’t see those videos.

What a remarkably shitty defense this is. It doesn't matter but still...it's like a horrible work of art.

Holy shit, dude! The lawyers took the case knowing a) They would win and 2)They weren't getting paid! Christ... free publicity for defending the Liar in Chief?! The crew that quit weren't prepared to whore themselves out.

As far as Ted Cruz running against Drumpf???? The fuck??? Did you miss 2016???

Gotta love the added background music to their videos. I guess when they complained about editing videos, they were just being hypocrites.

Apparently Murkowsi was “quite impressed” with the defense this morning... LOL! Caving to Mitch McConnell and Trump once again. I expect Susan Collins will fall in line as well.

One could call this a clash of bubbles. Two ideologies that know nothing about the other. Thinking the other lives in nothing but lies and alt-realities.

There mere asking of your question suggests you never even met or spoken with a Trump supporter. You would know they were serious if you knew how the Right Wing views Trump.

Has anyone ever watched a lawyer in court defend a child molester? Or an attorney in court defending a man that murdered a child? Well this Trump defense is what it looks like. However with the child molester, the attorney will blame the molesters upbringing. Justifying the act of child molesting or murder on the childhood of the accused. So just be forewarned... expect Donald Trump’s torcherd childhood to be the next focus from Trump’s attorneys.

You missed the mark, bigly.

You juxtaposed two entirely different cases. One of admitting action but blaming others, against Trump's "I did nothing wrong". No comparison. As will be proven by your quoted statement never coming true.

It will pain her greatly, but for the good of the country she will vote to acquit.

So someone refresh us, once Trump is either convicted or acquitted, then can Democrats ban Trump from ever running again with a vote? A simple majority vote? After all, I believe banning Trump from future office was the entire purpose for impeachment. Not so much for impeachment itself but to bar or ban Trump from ever running again.
