He never had one. He lost the presidency and both houses, and all in one term.
He shat over his own party so he won't get any back room support next time round.
Hes getting increasingly insane and his level of sanity wasn't amazing first time round.
His rats have fled his sinking ship. He's left with a frayed basket of moth eaten deplorables covered in the filth of their past exploits.

I give even odds on him being a dribbling idiot or dead by the next election.
And yet, this happened today. TODAY:

Thats the equivalent to Trumps argument that he couldn't have lost the election because people cheered at his rallys.

You can always pull a few deplorables out.
To be clear, all I'm saying is that I'm not sure that shitting on his party is enough to lose their support. Or at least a meaningful portion of it. Not to kink-shame, but some of them seem be ... kind of into that.

He never had back room support in the beginning. Back room players were absolutely freaked when it looked like he would win the 2016 nomination, and there was an extensive "anyone but Trump" movement in 2016. But he just steamrolled everyone.

I don't think any of these antics matters to his base. It's been a shit show since 2016 and he got more votes in 2020.

He could be a contender in 2024 or a kingmaker, and shit disturber in between.

House judiciary committee members circulating draft articles of impeachment (publicly):
Most of Congress running on no sleep, so this is still quick work, after Hawley and Cruz and the house sedition mob kept Congress in session all night to air their full throated support of Trump, Trump's false claims, and by proxy full support for the insurrection.

He was a dribbling idiot five years ago with no back room support. America's dribbling idiots have made him the GOP. It's his party.

So you are okay with this behavior? Your ability to lick boots is unvarnished. I commend your consistency.

I think it's the unfortunate reality.

25th Amendment requires support of Pence and a large portion of the Trump sycophant cabinet. This will NEVER happen.

Impeachment might happen, if they had more time. But there is no realistic chance this can be pushed through in the time remaining.

All that can really be done, is run down the clock, while the Trump tantrum wrecks more things, and issues more pardons to himself, family and cronies.

He was an unknown quality then. The GOP liked how he threw shade at the Ds, they didn't know that he'd do it to them as well.
They will shut him down hard and early next time.

There must be consequences. Not sure impeachment can be done quickly, censure or the 25th Amendment. I like impeachment because if convicted he can never hold office again. Seems required given the recent events. So what if it happens after 1/20. Something must happen.
