Tomorrow morning I'm having two surgeries. I had a sinus surgery in February of last year and because of it, some scar bands have developed in both sinuses. So, I'm having the scar bands removed and I'm also getting a tonsilectomy. I guess I'll be eating a lot of popscicles in the next week or so.

EDIT:

Okay, I took two pictures. (Well, I took way more than that, but I just couldn't get them to turn out.) They're blurry and gross-looking. I'll try to get Tim to take some later, but this is all I have for now.

Thanks, y'all. This is my ninth surgery in eleven years. I hope it's the last one for a loooooooooooooong time. 🙂
 
I'm in contemplation of getting a tonsilectomy done as well.
I'm not real definite, but I might go for it.
Just recently, it was real bad for like 2 weeks 🙁

Yeah. My tonsils really aren't that big, but they're asymmetrical so they want to remove it. My doc scared the sh!t out of me on my first appointment. He said that he wanted to take my tonsils and send them to pathology because having asymmetrical tonsils at my age (turned 29 on Saturday) isn't good. He wants to make sure there's no lymphoma or anything. Then when I went to the appointment to schedule the surgery, he asked if I was sure I wanted them out. What?! WTF did you scare the crap outta me the first time to ask me if I was sure I wanted it? He said that on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the worst pain ever it would be about a 12 for two weeks. Grrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaat. I have a sore throat daily, so it's worth it to me.

The surgery won't, but the drugs will. 😀

I'm in contemplation of getting a tonsilectomy done as well.
I'm not real definite, but I might go for it.

It's worth it to me because I'm tired of my throat/tonsils hurting.

deejay - I'll have to have Tim bring our camera for pics. I'm sure I'll look just greeaaat. lol

Franco - I'm going to enjoy the meds. I take Vicodin on a regular basis for my fibromyalgia and arthritis and lately it hasn't even been touching the pain. I'm hoping I'll get something that will really help.

My wife had the tonsilectomy as an adult last year. The pain is all it was advertised to be, and more. Don't beat around the bush about pain meds, get serious right from the start. So many times they'll say, "try this and see how it goes" . Baloney. Get the good stuff right from the start!!!
