6 months + full bonus + accelerated vesting of stock options and I would consider it.

No, I love my job. Though, I think they need me here. If I was offered $2000 to quit, and had enough time to find a new job, I might take it. Then after a few months on the new job my old job begs me to come back with a 50% raise... yeah that would be nice.

No way! I wouldn't consider it until it was at least a couple hundred thousand.

No, the company is not in trouble. The offer is more about getting rid of people that aren't passionate about the company or their job.

So, would YOU quit your job right now for $2k?

In that case, I would stay just to spite the company. If it was $2000 to take some pressure off the payroll, maybe if I had an easy job lined up. No way in hell in this case.

I'd quit in a heartbeat. That's like $34k

Great... so now I'm unemployed, my car insurance just went up, and I can't drive a stick shift with a broken arm anyway. No thanks :)

Asking if ATOT would quit with 2K? Youre aware that everyone makes that while theyre sleeping here right?

Anyway, it only makes sense if you were already thinking of quitting... Getting a free 2 K for quitting is awesome

Dude, think of the people in Bangladesh

answers to this question is totally relavant on age, family, and income.

If your 16, i cant think of any 16 yr old that wouldnt take it and say LATEZ!

If you have a family you think of security. So no, a constant paycheck is > one lump sum.

If your old, well 2g's might also be important.

If it was a 70 yr old gramps, i think 2g's would make him happy instead of working at like wallmart.

Also income dependant.

People that make 2g's a month, yeah, 2g's is good.
People that make 6 figures, 2 g's is 1 weeks paycheck.

As for me, i spend ,more then 2g on computer parts for fun, so 2g's wouldnt be enough.

Also i think my clients would pay me not to quit vs my boss paying me to quit. Umm.. actually i own my company, so i would have to pay myself to quit.

That thought is kinda funny.

my company paid me 50k in benefits for a relocation, locking contract for 1yr
getting 2000, or even 20000, would put me at net loss

If a company really wanted you gone, why wouldn't the just fire you? Office politics?
