btw, the tC has a camry engine. Short gear ratio + TRD S/C or a Turbo Kit = r0x.
Civic sucks.

Civic = gutless bitch. That thing has no low-end torque and the engine is buzzy as hell. Not to mention that the tC comes loaded with features.

I drive a 2000 CIVIC Ex and I'd have to agree. My car is reliable but that's about it. Slow as hell and kinda crude.

tC has more hp, more performance, more room, better warranty, and costs less. Only drawback in the gas milegage.

the engine they use in the TC is pretty good, broad powerband. 4 cylinders have come a long way.

Scion tC for sure.

Why?
1. It has a LOT more torque then the honda.
2. Disc brakes front and back
3. Independant suspension
4. it has more cup holders
5. It offers a decent amount more hiproom

That being said, I don't like either one of those cars, though the Scion tC is the lesser of two evils.

The civic has independent suspension.

When did Control-Link MacPherson Strut and Reactive-Link Double Wishbone become known as Independent?

Slower, smaller, less features, crappy 15" wheels, buzzy/peaky engine, rear drum brakes, more expensive? The tC is basically a European market Toyota Avensis made into a 3-door hatchback for the American market.

Yeah, hands down alright:roll:

i'd take the scion tC cus civics have no torque but they avergage about 8MPG more highway so u pick but i like the look of the Scion tC better and its faster and i think the new Civics are ugly

Scion tC: 2.4L
160HP @ 5700 RPM
163FT/LB @ 4000 RPM

Honda Civic EX: 1.7L
127HP @ 6300 RPM
114FT/LB @ 4800 RPM

are those specs worth losing 8MPG????? i think so but it's your choice

no comparison .. unless you want uber-gas mileage, go with the scion. a friend has one and they're pretty nice. pimp ride on a budget.

I keep reading that the tC is cheaper than the civic yet offers better options. all pricing I have seen indicates the scion is more expensive. Where are you guys getting your prices from? Amazon's cars section is offering the EX for $15200 and offering a base tC (which does include similar options and sometimes better - like 17" alloys) for $16200)

The Scion definitely has more appeal for performance and style... but there is something about them that make me think that one day they will become the future Hyundai / Kia equivalent.

Why are people still buying this generation of civic and paying as much for it as they are? God.

Because everybody rants and raves about their Hondas and Consumer Reports is constantly fellating them.

Scion tC without a second thought. Best bang for the buck car on the market today.

Scion Tc, and that's the final word.....................

A scion tc will get you laid before a civic ex, think with your little head not your big one.

tC! It's just plain pretty. Plus, you can get a factory supercharge for it later that bolts right on and is even covered under the warranty.

If I had my way, though, I'd take your budget, throw in an extra 10-15k and get an Acura TL.....(Or 300C :p )
