Declaring democracy and voting fake is a sign of weakness and desperation. Trump carries big loser stink every time he talks about that stuff. You think popular people need to talk about discrediting popularity contests?

As for some of the other issues: there are just going to be lots of bad choices until political power changes, and there are multiple simultaneous negotiations going on in Congress across a variety of issues. Peeling off votes for select things buys time. Bogging ICE and CBP down in more training, limiting how their funds can be used, etc, until you can take a hammer to it means their people are spending more time doing non-enforcement things and their resources become a little more restricted. It isn't enough, but what are you going to do in the meantime? Talk about burning down a Walmart and then not burning down the Walmart? And then there are lots of squishy moderates who are not all fire and brimstone, so it's their on-ramp.
