You claim the cult is strong with people, who are clearly not in a cult (
@ivwshane for example), as you make it sound like only democrates get to vote, and they have to support someone in the democrate party. Yet, you are ignoring the fact that voters are a collective of republican , Democrat, other political parties, and independance voters, where we all hold them accountable thru the same means. Ignoring that fact, coupled with your apparent belief that you have to support someone from your party, actually makes you appear to be the one in a cult.
The truth of the matter is, it is our job, and ultimatly our responsability, as voters, to vote in the best people to represent us, which is obvioulsy subjective, but avoid limiting ourselves to only those in our party, as other's outside of our party may be the best and correct person to represent us. That includes putting honorable, and moral people in congress, that will hold each other accountable regardless of party affiliation. Our responsibility as voters, also comes with the job of convicing others to see why XYZ are not the right people, which includes trying to get the current "republicans" to see those facts. However, we have to get back to where we can talk out our differences, rather than hate on them, before that can be accomplished. That can only be accomplished if we hold ourselves accountable, and change how we interact with each other.
I personally believe all political parties need to be abolished. It's time those that represent us, do it on their merits, their history, their experience, etc, just like every other person who is applying for a job has to do. And the second they attack somone, they are automatically disqaulified to run. Imagine what would happen if we started attacking other applicants in a job interview.. we would be ushered out the door in a heartbeat. So why do we tolerate it with those that are applying for the job (campaigning) to represent us?
