once this is over in december i'm thinking about doing a triathlon or an offroad triathlon. granted i wouldn't want to do this until spring since the water would be so f'n cold but it sounds like fun. it would be nice to talk about it in a fitness forum here. hint hint.

I love success stories.

Congrats and please keep us informed with your progress

lol, Well its the 28th and I have zero September 1st pics. Gonna go through the blogs again and some non-responders might get the boot.

Kinda hard to judge if we don't have pics/progress to view and read!

Well, if you are going to post pics here, I will too:

Aug 28, 2007:
[*]Front View, Relaxed
[*]Side View
[*]Back View, Flexed
[*]Front View, Flexed Up
[*]Front View, Flexed Down

Some good progress shows up on my stomach and pecs. Yet next to no progress in the pictures for my legs/arms. I swear my arms are stronger than that in person though. Maybe it'll show up in the next month's photos.

Also, this is a reminder for everyone else to get their photos in.

I went and bought 24 Krystals to last me 2 days of food. (I was really drunk at the time) I just finished them. I can't wait to have a kitchen to cook in again.

I actually lent someone my camera, so maybe I'll take some pictures in the airport bathroom. I'll be sure not to tap my foot. :p

Hey, September pics are finally up.
Blog

FrontRelax1
FrontRelax2
FrontFlex1
SideRelax1
SideRelax2
SideFlex

The rest of the pics are in the latest blog post. Arms didn't change so I'm not including those pics here.

Stats are the same except for weight.
Height: 6'2"/189cm
Weight: 219 lbs./100kg (Down from 224/102)
Pants size: 35W/36W
Biceps: 15in./38cm

I should have measured my chest at the start. There's a lot of new muscle there. If it weren't for the fat being there at the start I'd say I've added an inch

I have no idea how to pose and am not really too concerned about that fact. It's more noticeable this time because I used an actual camera (not my PDA phone) with a timer.

I set a 20lb PR in the squat and a 30lb PR in the deadlift this month along with a baseline paused bench PR (441/240/531 S/B/D). Many other multi-rep PRs in various lifts. I'm down to 193.6 from 198 at the beginning of August. Strength continues to increase despite my slight caloric deficit.

Yes, its well into the 2nd and I have a whopping 5 sets of pictures, only 3 of those including updated weight. So much for the monthly update at this point.

I'm not motivated to send 20+ pm's right now. I think this challenge is great and requires very minimal effort. Now, according to the rules, 2 strikes and you're out and we'd lose about 10 competitors today from falling behind on journals and not posting pics. So, what to do?

I guess I was a bit off-base calling you a worry wart. Looks like only 9 of the 27 contestants have updated within the last two weeks.

I'm cutting/pasting right now, on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon.
Thanks again for trying Bobby. :)

Well the charger for my digital camera got FUBAR'd on a trip so my replacement is supposed to be here tuesday, but I couldn't make it on time. Sorry, good luck to those of you that made the update!

Sorry I am behind with my updated pics. I have been on vacation and got slammed with a vicious flu/cold on my last day of vacation which I am still struggling with over a week later, so I have not even been to the gym in a few weeks.

All of my vitamins and supplements were lost by the airline too (along with a bunch of my clothes), which is damn annoying. :frown:

I have updated my blog and will PM pics as soon as I have a chance (probably this weekend).

Any update on where you wish to go? I guess it depends on what you wanted to get out of this contest.

Option 1: Be strict about the rules. Just like the military, rules are there for a reason. If you can't follow them, then you lose. Clearly, you can't keep bending rules and have any kind of fair contest. I can see good arguments for this option.

Option 2: Encourage healthy behaviors. If you even get 10 people in shape, isn't that a good thing? If you let people be late here or there (within reason), they might stay in the contest (otherwise they may just quit if they get kicked out). If promoting health was your goal, this is clearly the option to take.

I favor option 2 myself. I'm not in it to win, I'm in it to be healthy and to be attractive to my GF. I try to follow the rules, but if I make a mistake here or there I'll still be exercising and I'll still post my results in my journal.

I found out on Sunday that I wear a 42 waist pant, and that buying 38-waist "skater pants" does not count. :(

So is the contest dead? I intend to continue updating my journal periodically and posting monthly pictures regardless. I do believe it has helped keep me motivated.

If anyone doesn't update, then it's on them to either pack it in, or crank up the effort & prove they can help themselves.
