Updated my blog. I was feeling pretty good about my progress in the contest (not much raw data, though) until I read the last dozen posts.

Oh well, I feel great compared to three months ago. I'm looking pretty good, too, if I do say so myself

Hehe NiteWulf, don't worry about anyone else. Your just doing this for yourself, so if you see progress, then great!

By the way, I remembered why I stopped doing sumo. That was around the time that I hurt my hip. I'm easing back into squatting/deadlifting now and I'm healing up finally. I pulled 405 twice with sumo at the end of my delt/trap workout today. I'm gonna try to do another form check sooner or later.

Bump to help people remember to get their October updates in!

I took my pics a few minutes ago, but I have to go so I should have links for you tomorrow. Official weight will be done tomorrow, and maybe I'll throw in a surprise measurement ;)

EDIT: NO, that's not what I mean!

Anyone else bored? I'm not where I should be, & lack of motivation is of course totally my fault. If there was a gym worth a damn in my area, & if I knew anyone around here that wasn't surgically attached to their television sets, I might be in the running for this.

At least I grew out of my pathetic weight set finally(142lbs +bar). I haven't done that since I was 16, when I barely weighed 150lbs. I've been wrapping wet towels around the ends for a couple extra pounds, but that's a hassle. I need to find someone giving away weights on Craigslist, so I can actually play with some dumbells again.

I'm half-tempted not to post any new pics. I have literally made no visible progress. I feel better, but nothing shows up in the pics. Granted, I only restarted my routine a couple of weeks ago, and had an insane relapse before that. Yet somehow I have lost 4 lbs

Journal

So, pics.bbzzdd.com hasn't been working for me the last couple days and I haven't bothered to start an account at one of the other pic hosting sites. I weighed in at 197lbs yesterday morning. I've bumped up the calories a bit to help with recovery. I've been setting PRs every training session. There is a powerlifting meet on December 15th in Washington a few hours away from where I live. I'm thinking it might be a good way to end the competition with some new 1RM PRs.

Ugh... I totally forgot. I'll try and get new pics up, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Progress has been nil for almost a month.

I ended up not joining the contest due to laziness, but I thought I'd let you guys know I've lost about 13 lbs since the contest started. I wish I'd just gotten my pics and blog together and done it, but oh well.

Keep up the good work guys.

Well, I never actually entered, but I've been running since about july and I ran a straight 19 minutes in my first 5k just a week ago.

I need inspiration. Quick, someone call me fat.

FAT FAT FAT!!!!

It's not enough. I think I need a physical confrontation. Drag me out of bed, start kicking my dog, that sort of thing.

November weight: 209lbs/95kg

FrontRelax1, FrontRelax2
FrontFlex1, FrontFlex2
SideRelax1, SideRelax2
SideFlex1, SideFlex2
RBicepFront, RBicepSide
LBicepFront, LBicepSide

Blog should be updated with pics this weekend. I'd like to go through it this month and fix the links and centralize hosting of the pics.

Curiously, I must have made an error when measuring my biceps at the start of the contest. They're down .5in/1cm from July. Maybe there was just extra cushioning there. They're definitely stronger, but I don't know if they would lose that much size just from my weight loss

Your error was expecting your arms to gain any size while you were attempting to lose inches on your waistline. You have subcutaneous fat on your arms just like you do on your midsection. It takes a lot longer to add inches by gaining muscle than it does to subtract inches by losing fat.

Assuming your body stores fat relatively evenly across your arms and torso (subcutaneous fat storage preference varies from person to person, but just humor me), your goal of losing enough fat to go from a 36" waist to a 33" waist would bring your arm size down from 15" to 13.75". At your new bodyfat level, the muscles in your arms would have to grow 35% (by volume, not circumference) in order for you to have 16" arms.

A much more productive goal would be having the ability to do a certain number of chin-ups or push-ups.

Well I blew it. No excuses, it was completely my fault. I forgot about photos for this month.

I'll take photos this weekend and have them posted by early next week.

I will accept whatever punishment I get.

As for my progress, I'm right at my target weight, 150 lbs. I'm still working out, 2-3 lifts a week and one aerobic a week usually. I'm eating healthier than ever before. And I even went out and got my first flu shot ever just to top off the healthy transition. If I stand straight, the stomach "handles" are nearly unnoticible. And my arms, while not being any bigger are certainly stronger, more defined, and harder.

Thanks for the info. I knew my arms were puny! More curls for me

tallbill, your DL progress is really awesome, good job. your form is terrible though...and im not saying you are weaker than you are DLing, i think with proper form you could do much more and avoid pretty serious back injury. DLs could be a good friend or bad enemy haha, ive seen a lot of people hurt themselves doing it.
