CHRIST MAN. You blew $1800 on a POS that you don't even like and don't want to return it? $1800 and you get a 700 mhz (yes I know an apple mhz is equal to about 1500 PC mhz. whatever) with 40 gigs HD?

Course all you can do on a mac is surf the net and play around with video and images - something you'll probably never do, so I guess 40 gigs HD is fine. I feel very bad for you and I think you should return it!

<<
Right: It's so pretty! Look at the lines, it's like a giant, blue, booby! And we can get an I-Pod and listen to music!
>>

Thats funny... my iPod works fine with my PC 🙂😛

Yet another reason NOT to get a mac 😀

Do what I say:

1) Return it
2) Buy a real computer
3) If little carbos want flashy colors get some neon lights in the case and you can get the monitor custom painted in flowery colors.

This saves you a lot of money on a real computer.

<< How old are your kids? Would they be bowled over by an aluminum case with window and neon lights inside or something like that? What tickled their fancy most about that iMac? Perhaps you could build a PC with a fancy case and use the balance of $1,800.00 for a REALLY huge monitor and/or speakers and sub. That ought to sway them, no? >>

OK I'm back now after the crash. GAwd I can't help but laughing. The keyboard stopped registering and the screen started flashing on-off eratically..I am going to return this if it happens again.

anyway, they are 3,5 and 8 and the oldest uses these Macintoshes in school. These kids are brainwashed by Apple I think? Good thought though if I decide to return it. Thanks

I got a call from my 6yr old's teacher when he refused to use an "AppleCrap" computer. His teacher was amazed that he had his own PIII 866, 30gig HD, 256mb memory, yadayadayada. And that he basically put it together himself with Daddy's advice. I hate the schools use of Apple and then they go to college or work and have to use a PC.

That is carboyl to a T. Too bad we didn't have any mac zealots in here first sh*ting down his throat so that we could then point this at them.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but I'm not surprised. I used the Mac since its introduction and Apple's handling of OS X convinced me to leave.

I was/am a registered Apple developer and used the prerelease versions of it and was appalled that they released it when it was so obviously not ready. There weren't even useable APIs for many of the most common needs. And now they won't even send out pre-release copies of the OS to developers who have paid to get them because they are afraid of leaks.

Exactamundo.. I could have said it better. This article is dead on.

YOu know I never really relized just what a POS these APPLE's where until now. 😱

Weird considering most of us here already knew it and we haven't even had to use Apple's to find out 🙂 Last time I used one was in university. It's like consuming feces. Do I have to try it to know it's not nice?

Whew. I'm back on my PC now.

Anyway, I noticed a 15% resocking fee on the CompUSA reciept.?> If it's opened box. Anyway to get around this? Or will this be a $250 mistake.🙁

Eat the $250 and get that abomination against God?s Law and Man?s Law out of your house. Would you allow a poisonous serpent that tells LIES to your children to remain in your house? Would you allow Satan into your home because he looked lonely? No I say! Cast out the demons. Send the pestilence from the house of Jobs back to its unholy maker.
Amen.

I just want to know how many times you tried to right click something?

Reach for right mouse button......dont feel it.......look at mouse........wonder where right button is........remember you bought a.........<unspeakable words>

if all you want is the look of os x, you can always get window blinds (or whatever it's called) or talisman.. i can make my desktop look whatever i want..

edit: only nice thing about that imac, is that it has the superdrive.. have you tried burning any dvdr's yet carb?

LOL I can't count that high🙂 Right click>open new window not happening but you can always hold the APPLE botton then click for the same effect....Well sorta.

BTW- I must correct a system spec. it's a cdrw dvd player not the super drive as I indicated earlier. What you don't think I'd just throw my money away? do ya?

OS X is highly dependent on RAM. Drop another 256MB chip in it and you should see a difference. Course you could have gotten a dual CPU G4 tower for the same price but it wouldn't have been pretty.

<<dual CPU G4 tower for the same price but it wouldn't have been pretty. >>

Why do people say this, the tower is a great design, the imac may even be a good design, but the new ilamp is a gumdrop, stick and rectangle
