I want to remind people of VIETNAM.
Anyone remember VIETNAM the very day AND the following days when the Americans vacated the South and the North took over?

The South Vietnamese that remained were in TERROR.
The North took over the South, and large numbers of South Vietnamese were captured then killed by the North troops.
South Vietnamese were ASSUMED traitors simply because they were South Vietnamese. Assumed anti communist. Assumed pro-American.
And so in the eyes of the North..... the traitors had to go! The surviving South Vietnamese.
Those South Vietnamese HAD to be considered traitors to the North and thus KILLED.
Along with their families, the families were also hunted down and KILLED as well.
Remember Vietnam? Anyone?

"SOME" of the South Vietnamese were lucky enough to flee along side of the last remaining Americans.
Americans fleeing South Vietnam while they still could.
Everyone has seen video from that era, of those last days when people were rushing American helicopters fleeing South Vietnam. Fleeing certain death.
People in terror trying to grab a ride on one of those American military helicopters.
They risked life to catch a ride.
Mothers, fathers, children.

Those South Vietnamese that could not get out, were not able to get out, faced certain death if they were not able to flee in some other manner.
Many South Vietnamese paid smugglers thousands to flee by boat to near by Thailand.
Families spent all they had to escape by way of Thailand.
And for many families, they had only enough money to smuggle one maybe two family members. The rest were left behind inside Vietnam to be hunted, arrested, jailed, then killed.

And over in America?
Americans back then were a different breed than we are today.
Back then, we had no Donald Trump.
No Donald Trump, AND..... America still had her heart and soul.
Our morals. Our compassion.
And thus... America took in hundreds of thousands of South Vietnamese refugees into the safety of American arms.
America sponsored refugees through the church, thru state and local governments, thru individual American families simply welcoming refugees into their home.
Companionate Americans void from the soul of Donald trump.
Americans of that era knew what it meant "TO BE CHRIST-LIKE".
I'll say that again... TO.... BE.... CHRIST.... LIKE....
Back then, Americans by the thousands sponsored the refugee simply by giving up an unused guest room in the home, or a room in a basement, whatever we had to give.

THAT..... was Vietnam.
THAT..... was America.
THAT was an America with decency, humility, love, compassion, morals, and an America that truly knew what it meant to be CHRIST-LIKE.
And today.....?
That America is no more.
Today, we have an America that marches to the beat of Donald Trump.

As with Vietnam, the refugees of today fleeing South America and fleeing certain death, those refugees have no safe place to flee.
Donald Trump made sure of THAT.
Today we have an administration that arrests, jails, imprisons, and removes children from parents.
Families fleeing certain torcher and death have no one to turn to.
For Donald Trump, those fleeing are all criminal, gang members, bad people that are less than human.

And he is proud of that, of what he believes.

Our nation, if we are still a god fearing nation, should allow them and all of them fleeing oppression and seeking amnesty into our safe haven.
Then, as with fleeing Vietnamese, allow caring Americans to sponsor those refugees.
And this would work.
And would show the world that America still has a heart.
And a soul.

If anyone today wishes to compare what is happening within the Trump administration to what happened within the Nazi administration, they should make that comparison.
And one would not be wrong for making that comparison.
Because, it is indeed an accurate comparison.

I agree on keeping families together, but that'd require a massive undertaking where we organize and fund the construction of refugee camps capable of hosting 300 new kids (and their parents) each day. Given the families involved, we'd need the capacity to house 1,000 new people EACH DAY. That is an incredibly large scale and I doubt we already have the resources allocated to get that done today. AKA, it takes legislation to prevent.

Speaking of prevention, a wall would also stop almost all them from crossing over in the first place. Also needs a bill to fund.
