Are there any numbers yet on if any of the parents of these kids have been sent back without their kids? I know they’ve said there’s a risk of that happening.

It has happened... don't know official numbers yet but several outlets have reported incidents of parents being deported without kids.

Instead of having anything spoonfed to you know the law and what it is not. This is Trump's policy and not a mandate under any law, yet he repeats that Dems did it.

There is no moral or legal justification for these actions. That something isn't explicitly disallowed doesn't make for a legal mandate.
What are you babbling about?

I understand that. Now have the Democrats proposed what I just did? It seems obvious to me, a way to have security and people treated well and get timely due process. I just don't recall this being proposed. It may have been but I don't know so I'm asking the question. The Republicans are a given in this horror.
There are a number of proposals floating around on this. I think at least one R has basically proposed this very thing. WH isn't interested.

Maybe Kim Kardashian should return to the White House and give the President this proposal.
Seems like it'd be the most effective way to end this debacle. ... I . AM . NOT . JOKING.
Someone go tweet her that she can save the children.

This is obviously a new policy rooted in punishing the parents or deterring future border crossing by others, not protecting the child. It's using children as pawns in a policy ploy. This administration is cloaking this horrible policy under the thin veneer of "law and order" and manifest destiny". It is policy crafted to incite schadenfreude with Trump supporters. Whatever deterrent factors we put in place must not be worse than the problem they're preventing. Removing thousands of children from their parents and putting them in detention centers and cages in order to intimidate families and/or Democrats into bowing to the president's will? This is way worse than the problem being prevented.

One important question that should be coming up is: what happens when these kids act out, or simply go ballistic, as a result of being deprived of their parents? Does ORR have enough staff trained to handle extremely traumatized children to look after thousands of them? Or do they just have whatever warm bodies they can find, in our booming economy with plenty of better jobs out there, who can give them food and show them where their beds are, but aren't capable of much more than that? And what does the staff do when these kids throw things, break things, try to harm themselves?

Serious question: Why is everyone so angry for Trump enforcing laws he never passed...no exec orders were written...that existed before he was elected...instead of those that wrote and passed those laws?

first:

he's not enforcing law. There is no law that he is enforcing. please challenge me on that claim

second:

ask yourself: how is this not specific policy, if as you claim, previous administrations were not "bound to enforce 'law'"?

third:

do you fucking understand basic civics?

These are all honest questions. One hopes that you are appropriately challenged by these questions, and address them honestly and fairly.

well, our republican governor, Larry Hogan, removed all state support from the border today, because he does not support monstrous, unconstitutional GOP-based Trump policy to separate children from their parents (lol--I still love watching so-called evangelical GOP shitheads defend this evil policy, the utter sub-human bigots that they are)

Look at Jeffy squirm. Look at Incorruptible, and Glenn1, and compuwiz, and DSF and all you other pieces of bottom-feeding single-cellular filth squirm. Look at you defend the very "demons" that terrify you. Look at what your decades of unquestioned fealty to the Gestapo's Original Party all these years hath wrought, you pieces of disease-ridden filth. Watch as your beloved Jesus casts you out of his heaven, for your craven hatred of your brothers and sisters. The children that you seek to murder. Every single one of you: guilty of infanticide. Step forth and be proud.

Thank you, AG Sessions and President Trump, for killing any sense of pride I had left.

Apparently we have to keep babies and children in cages longer than the lawful 72 hours, because we don't have the capacity to hold them in the "proper” detention facilities. Sessions blamed a surge in asylum seekers rather than the arbitrary zero tolerance policy mandated by Trump. Remember, these aren't just illegals... these are asylum seekers being separated from their children at the border. The latest plan is to start holding these kids on military bases.

One US Senator attempted to enter a facility and confirm the condition of children (some under 2 years old) detained longer than 72 hours, behind bars, away from their parents. He was denied entry, as ICE is afraid of photos of babies behind bars making their way to the media.

The UN High Commissioner has accused the US of violating basic human rights. Strongmen Putin, Maduro, KJU and Duterte would be proud.

But hey, Trump voters, you just go on claiming the moral high ground for being pro life. Assholes.

Trump and all these fake Christians are going to hell for this.

Anger and fury over abortion, but they'll let big govt snatch people's crying babies and children away.

Despicable.

I really hope while we are figuring this out and quickly none of these children die. My heart is broken already, but that would be beyond tragic.
