I was thinking of getting one for my daughter since that's what they use in school.

They ARE really cool looking. They use white LED's...makes it look very clean.

Great computer for a kid that doesn't play games. Also for older people, I'd love for my mom to get one.

they are very good for hacking wireless wep..etc just don't get a van and park infront of someone's house.

get a 99 buck midikeyboard and "write" songs with garage band. then burn a cd and demand people listen to it in your vw.

i would suggest formatting, more ram, minimal install of everything. if you dont want to do that work at least download Monolingual and free up a gig or two.

Yep. Very smooth running, and my daughter visits 8 web pages, IM's, and checks email. Exactly what she needs. Plus- she can't screw it up 🙂

thats true.
especially now you can create an awesome system for an account she really cant screw up too much and a way for you to get to it via internet connection to help fix any problems if she is far away.
however
ive brought this up a few times and no one here seems to have had the problem but an apple representative did suggest that we (at my job) not get these machines due to "scorching" issues that happened when kept on too long in certain conditions.
but that, too, can be helped with automatic shutdown times, i spose.
