is apple switching to intel this year or next?

The only good thing about a Mac mini is that it's an affordable way for people to own a MAC, it's small in size and handles the latest OS X and apps pretty well for the price, the small size is a big plus for size critical applications.

But to cut the crap, people or allow me to say tools, are buying such machines not because of those advantages that are listed above matter to them, it's just becasue they get suckered in to the marketing HYPE, I mean seriously what's the point in blowing that much money on a MAC mini ? If there is no real need for it then whoever buys it is just a tool, the same way people are going crazy for the iPod HYPE, wow suddenly white is da cool color to have, pffft I have problems finding a decent MP3 player that doesn't have any feature in it that is not a copy of whatever that is on an iPod or that doesn't come with white headphones. People are sheep!!

What makes them think that everyone likes an iPod / Apple like design / approach, GOD DAMN IT, everything must have white in it now, not even notebooks have been spared. GOD!!! I find Apple products to be of such a Metrosexual identity, ughhh!!

I can barley count the number of comopanies that don't have "White products clones" in there product lineup, I will know that the end of the world is near once IBM starts producing the new white T series called the " iPads"!!!!

Seriousely people need to move the fck on !!!!

Not everyone buys ipods just because of asthetics... it is currently the single smallest mp3 player available in its capacity range.

Ack! Why did someone bring this thread back to life? 🙂

Seriously, though... This Mini is a great little computer. It's quiet and doesn't take up much power in "sleep" mode, so I usually leave it running on weekends when I quickly want to check my e-mail or look up something on the web. I never really found a "killer app" for it, but it does a nice job for what I use it for. I'm definately recommending these to my friends and relatives, especially the ones who keep infecting their computers with viruses and spyware every few weeks 🙁

and I'm also waiting for a decent graphics card and slash $300 off their overinflated prices.

/me will be waiting quite some time. Seriously though when the hardware specs are beefier I'll definitely get my FREE MAC MINI, no way I'm gonna pay for it.

"iPad", eh? Sounds like a feminine hygiene product. Of course, now that Lenovo makes all of the IBM desktops and laptops, who knows what they'll do to them.

This year and next. iBooks probably first, PowerMacs maybe last.

Or every few hours. I would recommend a mac to just about anyone except those looking to play videogames. For college students an ibook would be perfect. It would do anything they need it to do and they wouldn't really have to worry about spyware or viruses, and that right there makes any price difference worth it. Most people don't care about the differences or lack there of between a windows based pc and a mac, they just want to use the internet and type sh!t without it crashing, slowing to a crawl, spying on them, etc. They just want it to work, which is exactly what a mac does.

I use a Powerbook to do graphic design work, and use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign pretty extensively. I've been using OS X for over a year now and I don't really like working with Windows anymore. It's not like I don't know how to use Windows, and I can keep a Win pc bug free and running well no problem, and it's not even that macs run PS any faster, I just like working within the OS X enviroment to do my work. Apple is not the devil everyone makes them out to be. 🙂
