Glowing ghosts of dead people do not exist in real life. Colour and sound do.
you mean these ghosts?

I was just getting a rise out of you about the denial part.
The original films have a charming simplicity about them. The special editions have a lot of poorly done CGI stuck in there for no reason other than Lucas was rather bored and was limited by his budget and tech at the time (the opposite of what you said). That's fine if you don't like the originals much anyway, but just try to understand that for fans of the originals the special editions are a travesty. It's hard to explain exactly WHY it's so bad, but it is.
Hell, it SHOULD have been killed off 30 years ago...after "Return of the Jedi."
The last three were terrible. (Jar-Jar Binks?)![]()

Good thing my set and player are still in good shapeThat's right, they didn't use the 35mm film source, they used THE LASERDISC version.
If you can choose how people see your ghost, why would Yoda and Obi want to be seen as old men? Anakin gets to be young again. I guess that must be a Sith power.
The special editions still have a charming simplicity about them because are 99% the same film still.

You can have my SW laserdisks when you pry them from my cold, dead hands. George Hypocrite Lucas will never see another penny of my money.
The easiest way to tell how Lucas fucked up?
"Luke, I am your father" is no longer a huge surprise if you're watching for the first time. One of Hollywood's greatest reveals was ruined.
i've never seen titanic, but i know how it ends.
Sorry, but I'm not buying his BS about the original being ruined. He's openly said they didn't do that for Blu-Ray because he didn't want to spend the money. They absolutely can make a very high quality digital transfer, but Lucas is just being an asshole about it now.
It's the integrity of the story not being kept throughout that's the point. As a first time viewer, you don't know Vader is Anakin until that moment. That's completely thrown out the window and the gravity of the reveal in TESB completely trivialized with the way he made the prequels. All so he could get the money shot of Vader in E3 (and even that is a travesty).

Interesting. If he released it on BluRay people would accuse him of being a greedy arsehole yet if he doesn't release it on BluRay he is being an arsehole.
I think he is holding them back so when sales of video set #112,124 dry up, he can finally release a new set with the original release included.
No, if he released it on the first BR release, people wouldn't bash him. There has never been a BR release so most people want it. It is the nickel and diming and trickling of new "features" just to create yet more video releases that pisses people off.
