Hardly. I have been in this situation plenty of times where the person in the fast lane isn't even going the speed limit, and thinks it's cool to pace the car to the right and completely block everyone who would like to go at least the speed limit.

the system is designed (for the most part) to allow easy passing. Stay right unless passing. Simple solution. If there are 3 lanes, drive in the middle lane when cruising, pass in the left and exit in the right. It isn't rocket science folks.

You are creating unsafe driving conditions and are a douche. Just move over, then get back when someone moving faster than you comes up behind you. It's not that hard. It's also important to stop at stop signs, and yield at yield signs.

There ya go folks! I figured this out when I was 16.

It's sad though that some people, including numerous in this thread, feel the need to play king of the road. Rather it be driving 90+ mph in any lane or actually trying to slow traffic down by blocking passes. Just follow the rules and get to where you're going without risking everyone else's lives while trying to make that 10:15 showing of Harry Potter.
