The whole DST premise is just stupid. Its like cutting a foot off the bottom of a blanket and sewing it on the top to make it longer. It doesn't work. Not to mention it actually increases electrical usage in the era of mass air conditioning - which was the ostensible justification for DST back in WWII when it first started. To throw the whole country into upheaval twice a year just to placate golfers and S.A.D. sacks is dumb. Sometimes wish I could move to move to Arizona or Hawaii to get away from all this nonsense.

To be fair, while I support DST, it's not fair to blame a failure to adjust on those people who struggle with it at first. The circadian rhythm is a very touchy thing, and problems with that internal clock have roots in a lot of mental health disorders. I've struggled with circadian rhythm issues, and it isn't always simply a failure to adapt, at least not at the conscious level.

I understand it's an annoyance, but does it take you longer than a day to adapt?

Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. People would rather have a consistent time than worry about changing twice a year. If we're picking one or the other, who in the hell prefers standard time? Sunlight at 5:30am during summer months and darkness at 5:00pm in the winter?

How about you adjust your schedule instead of adjusting everyone else's clock?

Why only 1 hour, why not 3 hours? Jump ahead 3 hours and fall back 3 hours. If daylight is so great at night make it bright until 11pm.

Also why can't we skip Monday and just have a super long Tuesday?

WWI and Bismark actually, but yeah.

(Actually, Canada first proposed and tried that shit a decade earlier on a small scale...but Germany was the first nation to adopt it on a national scale, in order to fuel WWI)

Unfortunately, I can't go to work whenever I want.

I guess the rest of the country will just have to sack the fuck up that day or two when the clocks change to something actually useful for most of the population.

Then we'd get 3 times the crying from you.

The sun will be up the same number of hours and the AC will be needed the same number of hours.

People actually adjust the AC before they go to bed? Pfft. I let that bastard run same temperature 24/7. And I love DST. I am a bad person, and that's good.

We purposely screw up everyone's bio clock for a little daylight at the end of the day.

Plus it's gonna be darker in the morning.

PS: Hope you don't have a car accident on Monday...

Yep, sleep is messed up today. Don't know about suicide but I do want to kill somebody right now. Tomorrow I'll be fine.

I mostly hate the fact that we change it, just fucking pick 1 and stick with it. time is arbitrary anyway, it doesn't matter what time we call it, just stop changing it every 6 months or whatever the fuck we do now

Or just move things midway 30 minutes and leave it there.

Just let individuals choose to assign DST to themselves. Then no one can bitch about whether they like DST or not. Solves that problem and I am sure it creates no new ones
