I hate DST

We purposely screw up everyone's bio clock for a little daylight at the end of the day.

Plus it's gonna be darker in the morning.

PS: Hope you don't have a car accident on Monday...

Daylight saving isn't as old as you think it is. First suggested by Benjamin Franklin, in 1784, it was at the time shot down by many very sensible people as being pointless. Then, in the First World War, it was introduced—first by the Germans—to save coal during war time.
Somehow in that age of austerity, the concept soon caught on and everyone started doing it. Sadly, nobody's really thought to change back. Except Arizona, and it hasn't fallen off the face of the planet as a result.

But oddly, some people still support the use of daylight saving: they say it saves energy, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and reduces traffic accidents. So let's bust the myths right now and make it clear that daylight saving needs to go.

Clock shifts disrupt our circadian rhythms. Studies have show that, around the times of the spring clock changes, there are spikes in suicide rates and an increase in the number of recorded heart attacks.

The study also found that the number of car accidents increase on the Monday following the start of DST.

Soo...instead of sleeping in until 10 am...I'll be sleeping in until 11 am?

Damn...I just don't see a downside to that...well...except I'll lose an hour of thinking about things I ought to be doing...if it would stop fucking raining here.

(I love being retired...no fucking schedule!)

Hate it hate it hate it, like we need another hour of daylight in FL, so now it can be 85-90 degrees until 9pm woo so exciting

Everything about summer eats shit, dst included. OP gave good reasons why it should be ditched, and there isn't a single good reason it should stay.

It's good that not all decisions in this world are not made by people with anger issues. Not all of us desire to be basement dwellers racking up 40k+ internet forum posts, we'd rather be out and enjoying the world. 😛

I doubt there's anyone on this forum that spends more time outside than me. Maybe a walking route postman if we have any of those...

Yeah it's gotta go, but meh.. I just don't feel that strongly about it either way. Especially now that most internet enabled devices update the time automatically, it's that much less hassle.

I never found any issues with it. Most all my clocks auto adjust and the only difference is I'm going to bed an hour sooner to get up at the correct time. Besides, it's not like any American actually does anything useful with an extra hour anyway.... that's not selfish at least.

I dunno, I'm outside for at least 12 hours a day in spring until end of fall. On weekends it's probably 6-8 depending what project around the house I'm working on.

I love summer.

Move somewhere that doesn't suck. Summer is meant to be enjoyed!

Then again, winter isn't supposed to suck, but it does here. Oh well.

Evening sun in the summer is absolutely awesome, I love it.

Despise it. I especially hate that "Its later than you think" feeling during the Spring forward. You be going along casually enjoying yourself on a Sunday and then think "Oh, shit - its xx PM already!"

It is good for golfers, as now we can tee off around 2PM or so, get the Twilight rates (much cheaper than daytime rate) and still be done playing before it gets dark (4 hr round typical) But they should standardize it. Pick one way or the other and stick with it year round.

Not going to enjoy waking up this week but I'll get used to it and then be happy we've got the extra hour. I dislike the other one far more.

That's about where I'm at, except I avoid outside homework when it's hot(over 70F). I do the lawn(stupid!), and help other people when they ask, but late fall-winter is the best time for outside work.
