I don't understand how this idiot on EBay doesn't have more negative feedback

Nothing wrong with the auction. Information is money.

Fuck that. People should know better, but this is exactly the reason why you need to be skeptical and wary about online trading...doucheknuckles like this...

Look at this auction and you see how these scammers collectively build up each other's feedback:
Pad your feedback!

I'm surprised that nobody has successfully filed a claim against this scammer and got him shut down.

why? the buyers are getting exactly what is listed in the auction. If they can't read the auction carefully and just buy on impulse its a cheap leason to learn.

he has it in the right catagory. he even says (multiple times) its a list etc.

nice fine print. Sellers like that are lame. The people who fall for them are lamer.

what fine print? it says right there in huge letters "WHOLESALE LIST"

Perhaps...but I have seen 300GB SATA drives for about the same price, so it didn't seem very hot to me.

In any case, what a dick.

Apples and oranges - those 300GB SATA drives are not 10,000 rpm. 😉

Guys, it seems like a no-brainer to report this. Go to, "report this item," and select this sequence from the drill downs.
1. Listing policy violations.
2. Misleading title.
3. Intentionally misleading or deceptive title.

Hopefully, if a few more people do it, this guy's auctions will get shut down.
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4048/reportedzd3.jpg

but its not a misleading title or deceptive. it says (again multiple times) that its for a wholesale list. hell its even in the right catagory!

The title is:
"BRAND New digital raptor 150gb 10000 rpm WHOLESALE LIST"

A non-deceptive title would be:
"BRAND WHOLESALE LIST for Raptor Hard Drives:

Also, he has multiple pictures of a hard drive. In addition, he mentions the drive in the title and in the post before mentioning that it is a list. On top of that, his headlining font of the body describes a drive, then he switches to a less fancy font to say list. By the end of the body, he gets down to a very tiny font.

it's meant to be deceptive but it clearly states what you are getting. you'd have to be a retard to not read the whole text of any auction you are thinking about bidding on.

Exactly. He is relying on people's stupidity to get a sale, and he hopes that his fine print will get him out of trouble.

There is no question that his intention is to be deceptive. Here is a screen shot of how the page looks on my computer when I begin to scroll down.

just look at the guys feedback, half the folks are no longer a register member. this has scam written all over it. people shouldn't be so stupid to fall for this crap.

"A fool and his money are soon parted."

There are A LOT of them on ebay and this guy is counting on that.

Nothing wrong with it really.

If people are too damn stupid to read the ENTIRE auction then they deserve to be out $50.

Based on his own claim of not breaking eBay's rules:
Attention Ebay: This information being purchased is based on my insight and research. This listing is in 100% compliance with your listing policies. It makes reference to no brand names, is in the proper category, contains no cross reference information, it is not combined as a bonus, and there is no excessive use of keywords. This listing describes exactly what I am selling in the title and description .

He apparently IS breaking their rules. He uses the brand name "Raptor" several times and the brand name "Western Digital" appears in a picture.

It does appear that the intent is to deceive.

If by "loser" you mean someone who is not stupid enough to fall for a gimmick like this, or let their kid have access to the credit card so they don't fall for it...then I sir will wear that badge proudly.

I'm guess your parents never taught you decency.

Yet another reason I tell the inexperienced to send me a link to the auction before they buy/bid on anything. That includes eBay, Craigslist, etc.
Example - My mom wanted some Sheer Cover mineral makeup. Sheer Cover is a name brand. The auction was listed as something like "MINERALS MAKEUP SHEER FULL COVER BIG KIT LIGHT BARE". She assumes that if she types in "Sheer Cover" that all the auctions will be for Sheer Cover brand makeup. The auction name covers both Sheer Cover and Bare Minerals, the two biggest name brands. The auction states at the very bottom : "We are not nor are we in any way, shape or form affiliated with i.d.bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals brand or any other tv brand."
Sadly it's a way of doing business on eBay. It's wrong and predatory, but still legal.

I take it you didn't read the description very well either.

well WTF is the big deal then?

He's selling a list of whole sellers for the product type shown. But you're initial statement does kinda go along with the point 😀

Interesting, i didnt read the description well either. I thought it was a $50 raptor. Meh, this is why i dont bother with ebay.

By this reasoning, no one should ever trust anybody. That's becoming more true all the time online, but it doesn't mean it's right. This kind of deceit is despicable imo. Yes, you should always read all the fine print in an auction before bidding, but it's obvious that anyone who does is NOT going to bid on it. This seller is counting on the one person who makes a quick assumption, possibly in the last moments of the auction in order to make a scandalous profit. For shame.

I looked at the last 400 feedbacks and every single one of the negative feedback is for this type of listing. I think all but one(I couldn't understand the most recent one) of the neutrals didn't appreciate his tactics. It's a sad way to make a buck, if you ask me.
