Remember when the president calling for the media and his political opponents to be imprisoned would be a big news story?

As Jonathan Chait mentioned, the media is actually incredibly biased in Trump's favor. Think of all the things he gets away with daily that they don't even bother to report on which would be considered extinction level scandals for any other president.

TBF a lot of the polling seems to have identified the proverbial astroid likely headed straight at his political future.

If the pants shitting GOP senators up for a vote this year really want to distance themselves, now is a good time to publish an Open Ed in major city newspaper that this is wrong and that a President should never weaponize the Judicial branches to wield as a sword vs political opponents.

But they can't. And they won't. So fuck them and their re-election hopes.

It's definitely a strategy. I'm not saying it's a good strategy. But a strategy none the less.
It is pretty much the only strategy left, since he and so many associates have tested positive. "Just pretend the virus doesnt exist and let as many a need be die until we have a vaccine."

I am sure this *will* have appeal to his base who already think the virus is "fake news" or vastly overblown. Those voters are already on Trump's bandwagon though, so I think it will further alienate any undecideds who may be left. Hopefully Biden will make political hay with this and his attacks of Fauci and the "scientists" at the debate this week.

*Ahem* none of this is against the law, show me in the constitution where this is wrong, Democrats have done worse.

Did I do that right?

If I were Trump I'd simply ask the crowd at his rallies, HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CALLED BY A POLLSTER? Because most if not all would say NO. And that is because most everyone has a cell phone and pollsters hardly get thru when calling cell phone numbers, plus a cell phone can more easily block unwanted callers or block callers not in your contacts list. And so.... that means most everyone at a Trump rally has never been polled and thus all of those rallied Trumpsters are not included in the polling numbers. I think this is how and why Trump beat Hillary in 2016 and more so the reason that Trump will probably beat Joe in 2020. All I know is, I've never been polled and I don't even remember hearing of a single friend or relative or neighbor or co-worker that has ever been called or polled. If Trump creams Joe Biden in 15 days, I'd predict that polls and polling are pretty much over for the future. If twice now during the past two presidential elections the polls end up outrageously incorrect then why even trust polls? And why even take polls? Just saying....

You think polls have no credibility because you've personally never been polled?

What you wrote above suggests that you are deeply uneducated.

The polls were accurate to within just over one point in 2016. Surely you would agree that’s very accurate?

You insist on keeping that losing attitude.
There are a lot of smart people involved in polling and the analysis of the data. They make a living out of that, they want accuracy.
2016 was within the margin of error, the cheeto got lucky with 77k votes.
Not this year, we are energized to kick him out

Or maybe you are secretly a cover trumpster wishing we would win...

Based on the voter participation and voter enrollment stats that were posted recently in this thread, I would say EVERYONE is energized, Trump supporters included. Just one more reason why every sane person should vote, and not throw away their vote on a third party/protest vote.

I heard on a podcast today that Harris County (Houston) is averaging 115,000 votes, a day right now. Over 4M so far in the state, about 46% of the 2016 turnout, more than 2 weeks out.

Travis County (Austin) isn't doing too bad, either. As of today, 31% of registered voters have cast a ballot. That's just 7 days into the 18 day early voting period.

Also note, that's 31% of the record 97% of eligible voters that were registered.
