They have a $99 HDMI cable that is packaged really well. I vote you return yours and get that one.

Ya, it's sad, but some people gotta do it out of convenience. I payed $30 at Wal-mart for a Philips component cable cause monprice is across the border (customs and takes a while to ship) and I didn't want to wait. The sad thing is the $30 was the second cheapest I could find locally (cheapest was at Canadian Tire but that thing looked really crappy for $25); the Source, BB and Futureshop had 6' component cables starting at $33.
Too bad I don't have an HDTV yet cause Dell threw in an HDMI cable for free...

I can understand people getting talked into buying more expensive analog cables. Analog signals often DO have issues, and even if not it's easy to convince yourself that you're seeing an improvement with your $100 cables. But we're talking about digital signals with error tolerance. If you have an issue with your signal, you're not going to see a fuzzy picture. You're going to really notice if you have a bad signal. Look at what happens with digital cable (real digital channels) and satellite when there are reception issues - you get blocking or very obvious signs that there is a bad connection. With HDMI, get a ~$10 cable that works, and you know you're getting the best picture. Unless you need a length longer than 15 feet and/or you need the latest high speeds, the gauge isn't a big deal. And for the love of god, don't pay B&M brand name prices.

I knew exactly what I was buying. And yes, I know its High Definition. And quite honestly, the TV I bought is the first LCD I have owned. I've always had tube TV's. So, when I hooked it up. 420 indeed looked good with the RCA it came with. But when the 1080 kicked in. It blew my mind. So, coming from a tube to 1080 you can see why I thought *wow*. By the way....been a long time since I have seen a person with your intelligence using a word like "duh". And anyway, It won't be returned, because $40 isn't anything.
The way I see it is....I *will not* drive 70 miles to buy a cheaper cable. And I will pay for what I want. Gamestop had NO cables in, and this was the only one I found in Walmart. And no...I won't order just one cable. And one cable, is not worth the wait to me to save a *few* bucks.

It may be a HIGH DEF MOVIE PLAYER first and foremost to *you* but it sure isn't to me. I game on it. And quite honestly, I don't see myself any time in the future watching Blu-ray. I bought it for games. Nothing else. Maybe if Microsoft would get their had out of their ass and fix their machine. The choice may have been different.
Most everyone that posted negatively about the cable I bought, seems to have tried to talk me into buying a 360. :roll:

Guaranteed 2 day shipping is 10 bucks on monoprice.com. You can't wait two days to save $25? If you could have *GASP* waited 3 days you could have saved $30!
Even now, you have the opportunity to buy a cable from monoprice and return the other one, but you probably won't because you're too stubborn. You already decided on a whim that you think you know better than the majority of people that have answered your polls, so why listen to common sense now?

Stubborn has nothing to do with it. It is just what I feel like NOT doing. But I do see what your saying though. It would be cheaper. And that would be fine if I didn't mind the wait for shipping. Which I do....and no, I do not think I know better than the majority. It may be common sense to the people here. Maybe they like saving money. But I like having something quicker and do not mind paying the extra money for it. But I do thank you for your advice.

That's probably the most ridiculous reply I've ever heard. You know what option I voted for prior to you changing your pole? I said "360 and PS3". Also, *gasp* the 360 has an HDMI port now. Imagine that... people giving you advice to help you save money and not spend it on frivolous items.
You're seriously the worst type of consumer and exactly WHY Phillips is able to sell a $40 HDMI cable in a pretty blister pack.

OP, you picked out some good games. Have fun. :thumbsup: Be sure to play that CoD 4 online multiplayer. You could probably get as much play out of that one as all of the others combined. And that's nothing against the other games, I have some of them myself - CoD 4 multiplayer is just that good. Just ask chrisg22, he has 200 hours in already. :Q I'm at 20 myself.

Its ridiculous because you think that cabling talk is platform independent. Cables are cables. Also, please go back and read my responses, then tell me all I did was talk about the 360 and what games it has. Back when there was still an option you would buy a 360, I stated that I had a 42" Sharp Aquos and it looked great with the 360, then suggested that you take back your overpriced cable and order one form Monoprice.

In all fairness, I can understand the overpriced HDMI purchase. They can be had far cheaper from online retailers, but sometimes you need things right away. Also, considering how much the OP just spent on a new console and games, I'd venture to guess that a savings of $15-$20 is probably not worth the hassle to him.

I'm coming to this thread late, but excellent choice on your systems and games given your likes/dislikes.,I'm the same way. Every game (save for Mass Effect) that appeals to me on the 360 is available, in superior form, on the PC. Nice pic of Uncharted. That's probably my favorite game of 2007, unless I'm forgetting something that came out early in the year.
