I have both.

Facebook was really handy for my High School Class Reunion just recently and is easy to schedule get togethers with friends.

MySpace seems to be bigger for musicians and is how I found out when friends are performing.

This wasn't a poll choice, but the answer to your question is NO. The "Lone wolf/last holdout from society for facebook" types are getting more annoying than the worst off the facebook users you so despise.

Seriously, your not counter-culture anymore. get over yourself. If you don't like facebook, FINE, you don't need to inform the entire world of that fact.

Then your answer would none dumbshit. I also do not consider myself "counter culture" or "Lone Wolf" They are not for me but I also know many people who join to be part of the "in crowd". I do not despise people on facebook either, I just fail to see what the kick is when they could outside getting some exercise or being social with the neighbors. I started volunteering fixing peoples computers because I wanted to help people and learn more about my town.

So before you ASSume something get your facts. You also do not need to inform the world what a fantastic prick you are either. Get over yourself

I joined facebook recently. I hate the social networking fad, but I'm sick of not being invited to shit because all my mates use facebook for all of this.

Oh, and I stopped my Mafia Wars addiction. :O I was like level 937 or something about a month or so ago. Jeez, finally deleted the app. I feel cleaner about it all. :D No more having to worry about it. Le sigh, yay!

I'm only on FB because I like how you can "keep in touch" with multiple people so easily. I remember the days when we would upload event pics to a crap site that made you login like kodakgallery or shutterfly then send out an email telling people where it was. And I'm sure some people didn't want to be on that recipient list all the time either. It's just so much better nowadays.

I have no texting, no twitter, don't use IM, no iphone/data plan, or myspace however.

I made a myspace page while playing WoW for some of the WoW guildies. I haven't looked at it in over 6 months.

I recently made a facebook page. I was the last person of my friends and family (outside of one group of cousins) to have a facebook page. I check it out maybe twice a day on my iPhone.

I'm on both, but I haven't used MySpace in like a year+... way way way too much spam really killed it for me.

I love facebook, though. it's helped me reconnect with a bunch of college friends that I had dropped out of touch with. now I talk to them almost every day and hang out with them IRL every couple weeks.

Facebook keeps my large, globally-spread-out family in contact in a cohesive way. We don't have to click through annoying pop-ups and registration forms just to view pictures. We don't have to remember e-mail addresses or remind family members that it's .US not .COM, for certian addresses.

It has also been useful for my job as a reporter, since I can get in touch with certian people without climbing through hoops. Tracking down local Marines, sailors or soldiers is easy and has proven instrumental in some stories I've had to deal with. What would have taken a couple days of voicemail hell is as simple as remembering that I went to school with someone and I can send a message that way.

If you hate Facebook, it's probably because you think it's an excuse for a social life. Well it isn't.

Thats not the reason 99% of people use it. So its pretty much correct relatively.

i'm on facepage.

it has shown me that with 300+ "friends" - what i knew already - people live disconnected lives.

i update my status and check stuff out via my blackberry. i can't see myself playing on facepage on a desktop. it's a blackberry thing for me.

i deactivated my account once and my legions of fans begged for me to come back.

basically it seems like everyone that uses it is either a housewife or someone really bored. so if i want to read super cryptic status updates from shutins or read about someone's kids... it's there for that.

edit: oh yeah i'm on twitter too but i never log in. if i have something particularly incendiary or crabby to say, i'll tweet it because no one is following me on twitter anyway.

I'm on both Facebook and MySpace; however, I'm hardly on there. Myspace seems pretty dead to me, so I pretty much never go on there (maybe 1-2 times per year). I go on Facebook about once or twice a month just to confirm friend requests and reply to messages. I definitely don't get the attitude of spending hours on there every day to document every aspect of your life.
