I love that my mom's order still looks good despite me ordering 8 hours before her (during the system overload). Oh well, at least I told her to order 2. 😛

I think I'm going to need a vacation after the past 2 or 3 days!

Wonder if anyone is selling the keyboard at a really cheap price.

lol. I don't think Black Friday this year will match the Touchpad mayhem. I need to quit following this thing but I can't help it. I'm fascinated how crazy this thing has gotten.

Now I'm seeing SD posts saying that people are getting cancellation emails from B&N despite previously being given a shipment date...so now I'm doubting that my mom's order will go through too. sigh.

Damn. Mine got canceled. I called an a Staples about an hour away had 1 left, but it is on reserve for someone.

I really want a 32M one.

attempted to get on on the smb hp site. i show a charge pending.. but for whats that worth.. i'll let you know soon enough.

Man order was cancelled from B&N and I ordered at 12:38 am oh well.

Ordered mine yesterday at about 8pm from B&N and got a cancellation this afternoon too. Not surprised though since I've
never had a successful order delivered from their website
over the last 10+ years (out of a total of about 8 orders).

But at least I'm still a "Valued Customer"!!!

Fuckers....

Dear Valued Customer,

We are writing to you regarding your recent Barnes & Noble order for "HP TouchPad Tablet with 16GB Memory".

You may see an authorization on your credit or debit card for the order, but please be assured you will not be charged. The authorization will be released in accordance with your bank's policies.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience that this may have caused.

lol. People who end up with multiple Touchpads will not suffer any loss. Despite what naysayers and people bitter about the deal think, there's not enough of these pads to go around for people to take a loss. The initial costs are too low and there's not enough supply. Most of the people who ordered online will not be getting one and will receive cancellation notice.

Those looking to flip Touchpads will likely experience the same deflated market as did hoaders of the UE Triplefi IEMs. These two items were "liquidated" at approximately the same pricepoint.

The Triplefi 10 originally had an MSRP of $400 and was sold at Amazon.com (in Dec 2009) for $99. The average resale price after they flooded eBay fluctuated between $150-$200 shipped.

Though, in all my Internet years, I have never seen anything quite like Touchpad madness. 🙂 I'm just hoping on my two orders producing at least one Touchpad.

Just got tracking numbers for the 2 I ordered through circuitcity.com, fully expecting the 3 I ordered from onsale to cancel tomorrow. Would still like to track one more down.

insight.com might have them.. they're taking the orders.. but there's some talk that the counters don't drop so they might cancel them..

My order status from Tiger Direct shows a tracking number now. For reference, my order time was 12:06 PDT and my order confirmation time was 12:07 PDT.

My OnSale order is still pending shipping. I got it in early yesterday. At this point I would expect them to fulfill the order and ship it. Id be really agitated if I got a cancellation now with little chance of finding another.

Some vendors are sending out order cancellations within a timeframe that you stand a chance of finding another. Still with todays inventory systems there is no excuse for order cancellations because you didn't have an inventory count/tracking.

For what it's worth, I've found milo.com to be useful in situations like this:
http://www.milo.com/hp-touchpad-wi-fi-16gb-tablet
(edit: for those that don't want to click though, milo.com is an online bricks-and-mortar searching site. so you can get inventory in local stores on items)

It's been accurate for me in the past.

According to milo, the Staples down the street from me has Touchpads... hmm... I already have an iPad and a Transformer... it makes no sense for me to be tempted. But I am.
