Gotta figure many sellers have no stock, they get product from distributors, or may have distributors drop ship orders directly to buyers, so it may be days or even weeks before all the dust settles, not even considering product must still be in production that HP is contractually obligated to pay for.

The good dealness remains to be seen, and I have more than one "great deal" that ended up getting ZERO use.

Meh if I get it great, if not no big deal. If I want one really bad I'll just get it in 3 months used for $50

You holding out on us? 😛
I had my headset on to give them a call right now.

I don't suppose they have a waiting list started?😀

Hehe, nope, that's what she said when I called. I didn't ask about a waiting list, but they are still taking orders at the original price. I was considering paying for one in the hopes that they drop the price soon, and if not just send it back unopened.

If you bought more than one with intention of selling, I hope you get stuck with a bunch of extra Touchpads, or have to sell them at a loss. That is all.

lol. People who end up with multiple Touchpads will not suffer any loss. Despite what naysayers and people bitter about the deal think, there's not enough of these pads to go around for people to take a loss. The initial costs are too low and there's not enough supply. Most of the people who ordered online will not be getting one and will receive cancellation notice.

If you ordered from OnSale through Amazon, it looks like the chance of you receiving the tablet are slim to none per SD.

Just got this from B&N

Barnes and Noble canceled my order. Dang. And then there were none...

The HP site is supposedly going to have another wave of touchpads available, but the "notify me link" is down.

While currently out of stock on HP's Web site, Corcoran tweeted that the best way to stay up-to-date about the Hp TouchPad is to sign up on HP for updates on when wave two will happen.

Europe is supposed to get the deal this week too.

🙁
B&N also canceled on me.
My order receipt e-mail came in at 1:09am.

So, when will the group of Wounded Touchpad Children get started?

(And I hope Insight.com is bracing their servers for the horde. It seems like they're the last ones left with these things.)

crap, my HP small business order was approved but it's still listed on backorder

does give an estimated ship date of 08/26/2011.

i'll wait till/if it ships before i see if i can get the shipping refunded

no word yet on costcentral, it says 1-2 days before an update.

Does it matter that much? I ordered one, it'll probably not go through. It's 100 saved towards my transformers 2, kal-el edition.

Yeah I read UK is supposed to get their price drop this week. That begs the question, how many tablets did HP really produce? People are saying 500,000 total but if 350,000 got sold over the weekend in the US and some more got sold today, how many are in Europe? I would think at least 100-200k at minimum. So how many are left for us?

I have to say this sale is the craziest thing I've seen. The masses are like locust, destroying any retail website with potential Touchpads in stock. Never saw so many sites go down so quickly.

"Due to unexpected customer demand for this item, our inventory was depleted prior to your order being processed so we are unable to fulfill this item as requested. Consequently, we have canceled your order and you will not be billed for this amount."

If this had been an isolated price mistake B&N would have been crucified on the Net for canceling all of these orders. Instead, most will probably quickly move on in search of the mirage that is the $99 Touchpad that no one wanted at retail.

Instead, I've decided to rant/rave, throw myself off a building ... and then sue B&N, assuming I survive the fall of the building.
