Thanks to FW and SD members for this one -- I am simply passing it along.

SKU # 8483704

Product Link

This rings up at $749, some stores have this price others do not. Many folks have been able to apply the 10-12% off coupons to this and get it for $669

You must go to a BB and have them search all the stores in your area and it will show the price in each store because the online system may show none but the store has them.

CHECK LOCAL STOCK
This does not mean that your store does or does not have it.

I scored in Richmond, VA. Only 2 locations have it West Broad and Brandermill.

$749 in store and 12% worked np. TV was not on the floor or anywhere noticeable. The guy had to get out of the back.

Smooth and easy deal.

While it was a little more than doing a set on the HDA deal its a whole lot less hassle and 0 risk involved for what should be a helluva nice set.

Broad St has 4 left when I was done.

Brandermill supposedly has 2.

Good Luck and I hope this helps some of you out there.

Greg

EDIT - 2/20/2008

Yeah, I pulled the trigger yesterday for $749-$10 RZ coupon. wouldn't give me the 12% but I'll try again tomorrow. Also going to try for tripple RZ points...

told my dad about the deal, and he got one too, no luck w/12% either...

Check AVS Forums for more info perhaps. Supposedly a pro review said it was good but not for the $1700 it used to sell for (ie it wasn't worth the price). It will be some time before I can set mine up.

It's way better than my old 27" tube tv... but that's not saying much.

I haven't gone through and adjusted the video settings yet, and I haven't hooked up a 1080p source yet either, but based on out of the box performance, it doesn't look as good as my buddie's 46" Sharp aquos.

It does look great however, and for the price, I'm sure it can't really be beat. I'd take it over a vizo, or olivea any day.

My local BB had 2 available for $749, so I took one and the sales leader that helped me probably bought the other one. :p I opted for the 4yr. extended warranty for $99 as well. Unfortunately since this TV is in clearance he could not accept the 10%/12% coupon. However I may try in a few days at the CS desk to see if a friendly CSR will credit my card the 12% RZ discount.

Out of box settings are not on torch mode (Vivid & all settings @ 50%), and both HD and SD look excellent thru my Dish ViP722DVR & Blue Jeans HDMI cable. I have a 50" Sony KDF-E50A10 that is tweaked and this HP TV is a real surprise. I am still tweaking (AVIA + HDNet test patterns) so I will report back later with more info. Overall this is a smokin' hot deal. Thanks OP! :)

I just checked around the Triangle here in NC, none of the raleigh stores have them, but there are apparently two in the new Durham store by southpoint but the price is $1249 or something like that which you can price match with the BB in Fayetteville which lists two in stock for $749.

To those who have bought this TV ... were you able to see one out of the box? Was a unit on display? If so, how would you rate this HP cosmetically?

Thanks ! :D

There wasn't a display unit at my local BB, and the sales rep didn't even know they had it available until I gave him the SKU#. However I unboxed it in my home and I dig the bezel and gloss black accents.

I find the viewing angles to be weak compared to my Sony KDF-E50A10 LCD rear projection tv. Since it will be going in my master bedroom I will angle it towards the bed. :) Regardless of what you read in the reviews I find SD content to be quite acceptable and slightly better than my Sony. HD content on Dish network is exceptional. Since it cost less than 1/3 of what I originally paid for my Sony I am very content with the purchase and have no intentions of returning it.

Ah.. I'm really thinkin about jumping on this deal. I plan on using it for gaming/blu-ray movies. I guess I'm going to have to find time to see this unit in person.

My friend who works for HP said that these probably don't have 1:1 pixel mapping. He had called the guys who work on those and asked about 1:1, and they said they didn't have time to program it in. This deal might possibly be for a newer model...

what's wrong with this tv? It seems like an awesome TV. And then you can even hook it up to internet to watch those rips/copies ^^

has anyone had any luck calling about it? Or is it worth to make a trip out to BB?
