You know if you actually read his tax plan fact sheet you will realize that the changes for the rich are minimal compared to what they were paying in the 1990's.

Perhaps you or anyone else can explain to us all why that minimal difference suddenly makes us transform from a country with a progressive tax plan to that of some kind of radical Socialist society? The proof is not in concept or your shitty opinion. Emergency room care has its own way of rationing itself with the size and space limitations of an emergency room. All 'cheap' general medicine will give us is more costs now and more emergency costs down the line later.

Just look at Medicare and skyrocketing costs.

OP, I'm not so much scared of an Obama win as I am a full Democratic sweep of the gov't. I am hugely cynical that govt can do anything well, let alone better than an average private for-profit company. But most of all, I just don't trust that the Dems will stop at the $200 - $250k threshold for increased taxation. Nor do I trust that capital gains taxes won't be increased more than 5%. Again, because govt has disappointed me for so long, frankly I don't trust anyone anymore. I only trust myself to achieve or die homeless trying. So yeah, I suppose it mostly comes down to money with me. If Obama succeeds, he will have proved me wrong about my cynicism and that will be a miracle...but I won't bet on it.

There are some other things too which are ancillary but are somewhat important to me, some of which include a likely return of the 1994 Clinton assault weapons ban, gun registration/rationing attempts, an explosion of lawsuits from the tort bar (unlimited $ medical malpractice, consumer goods related, etc), unrestricted embryonic stem cell research, and some other things as well.

So it's not just Obama. You marry the family as well (and the fringe lefties scare me).

You neglected to mention that the Arizona legislature is controlled by the Republicans and has been for decades. Not just any Republicans but the most extreme, corrupt, whacked out, irresponsible nutjobs to ever sport cowboy hats. The legislature keeps cutting state revenues through asinine taxcuts for their buddies while failing to control spending.

For those not versed in Arizona politics, the function of the Governor, regardless of party, is to veto most of the crap that the loony tunes Republican legislature passes.

Currently you are paying more money by not providing illegals some for of government health coverage since they go straight to the emergency rooms instead which cost so much more.

Besides, how can you ever expect the government to prove to you that it can run a program such as this one successfully unless you vote for someone into office that is serious about trying to do it rather than someone like McCain who is serious about trying to hand $5000 checks to insurance companies that have been failing us over the years?

You cannot expect the government to be able to deliver for you unless you are willing to put your money where your mouth is and give them a proper chance. Also, before you point it out, I realize the government has had its chances in the past but guess what? Private insurance companies have too and look where that has gotten us.
